Hi,
I'm not entirely sure of the answer to your specific question. There may be an adaptation effect.
At any rate, it's not a good idea to use antibiotics for pain management of CPPS, because this is harmful in the long term. You may end up killing off flora which is important to your body, to say ...

Also, I went through the Wise-Anderson clinic in 2005. Of everything I've seen over the years I truly believe those guys have begun to crack this thing. I have nothing but good to say about their program. It hasn't worked for me however because I wasn't disciplined enough and resorted the shortcut ...

Re: Question about internal PT
It's quite possible that she did express prostatic fluid during her work. This can even be caused by something as simple as a bowel movement. Could just be that you had some excess fluids in there.

Re: Botox Bad? -- Migration to brain stem
Pelvic floor Botox was brought up during my last visit to UoMiami for pain management. It was emphasized that it was quite experimental at this point, however, and I wasn't pressured.
Didn't think I would go for it then, and I still don't.

Whats the treatment for TMJ?
Have been doing neck exercises and I've started to clench my teeth at night. I also have tinnitus which I've heard can be related to TMJ.
Who is the right person to see?
The treatment for TMJ depends upon the cause, as does the proper person to see. There's no ...

I'd like to add my thanks for your contribution, George, especially concerning what went on at the urologist visit. People have inquired about that before.
I'll look forward to your future update. So far, it sounds like being early and textbook is working out in your favor.

Re: My Story and My Recovery
In my opinion, for an adult guy, once a day is okay (if your condition allows that frequency). Any more and you're having these incredible clenches of your entire pelvic floor repeatedly, in under 24 hours. That's just asking for trouble.

Re: Newbie (Pete123's Case)
You will have ups and downs. Unfortunately, it is a part of dealing with CPPS. Don't let it get you down. As hard as it may seem, carry on with whatever you're capable of doing, as your mental state is important.

Re: PT in Boston area?
If you have to be on medicine for a long time, it's not a big deal. Certainly nothing to worry over. I take four different drugs in a day, one of which is Lyrica, and I do believe they all help me. I'll be on them indefinitely and I'm fine with that. Do what you have to do.
That said, I think (as ...

Re: Anybody know of a good PT in Central Florida
Hi,
If you're willing to travel, try Pamela Downey at Partnership in Therapy for Wellness, which is in Coral Gables. 305-666-3232
Qualified PTs are sparse in Florida, but Pamela is very good. Takes me hours to get there, but you do what you have to.

Re: Facet Joint Syndrome
I'm sure spinal issues could be a potential cause, but I don't believe it's the cause. chronic prostatitis / chronic pelvic pain syndrome patients vary so much in terms of what they experience, some sets of symptoms would make no sense for FJS. I believe we're dealing with a number of issues which ...

Re: Some specific questions for you all
The unfortunate reality of our condition is that you can and eventually will relapse to some degree. However, you can take comfort in remembering that you've made it through this before. It does get better. Ups and downs, something we must all learn to deal and live with.

I am in South Florida, and the only qualified PT I know of in the region is Pamela Downey. She is at Partnership in Therapy for Wellness, located in Coral Gables, and is also a professor at the University of Miami.
Phone number for Partnership is 305-666-3232.

Re: Therapy Question
For what it's worth, when I first entered into physical therapy, my PT said the experience would be like peeling an onion. You deal with one layer, and then the one underneath becomes more prominent. To answer your question about medications, I couldn't have therapy without them, I was so tight. I ...

I think you should know that taking Tramadol is not likely to make the pain disappear entirely. I'm on pain management, where we learn early on that the goal is minimizing symptoms, because total elimination is rarely achieved. Keep your expectations reasonable.
