Yes, it can come back, it depends on the actions you take.

Ok

I'll listen to the PF PT then I guess and treat it as CPPS rather than a direct injury

Just an update that my pains still pretty bad 6 months on. It’s all on the left side of the penis.

I am thinking I’ll go back to my doctor to rule out any infections and perhaps order am MRI.

Your pain came on directly after an injury.

You were told that nerve injuries can take a long time to heal, many months.

You have not given the nerves time to heal, while leaving the penis alone.

The worst possibility would be a regional pain syndrome provoked by the injury, perhaps a mild form of complex regional pain syndrome (CRPS) or something similar.

In your shoes, I would

- stop touching the penis and using it for sex for at least a month.
- stop thinking about it, because concentrating on it causes the brain to focus pain there
- stop seeing uros and doctors about it
- NO KEGELS
- Take quercetin and PEA

Come back in a month and tell us if there is any improvement.

Just update - I had my PF physio appt yoday and kept it as cancelling would mean a fee. My physio says my localised pain is hypersensitivity connection to the brain and that I should continue soft kegal exercise concentrating on the release.

I spoke to her about how I should maybe be doing reverse kegels (pushing my poo and wee out) and she said no, that does not do anything. A slow and soft kegal with a release and relax rather than a push is needed.

I also asked about hands on trigger point therapy by then and she said they don't do this anymore as it is only a short term relief and does not fix the ‘driver' of the vehicle so I'm all theory no hands on.

PF therapist is 100% certain its PF related.

I've ordered the supplements webslave but I'm torn on my diagnosis and I've always been told to follow doctors orders. PT wants an appoint every 2 weeks ($140 AUD a trip) is there a way I can work with you somehow to go thru my symptoms abs issues and come to a reasonable suspicion on if its PF related in your experience

Just wanted to add i have post ejac discomfort too (next day that lasts ages) I've read on here that this is a hallmark CPPS symptom . Masterbation is off putting and would hurt.

Does this help diagnose?

Post ejac pain does suggest UCPPS, but would also occur if there is a nerve injury. If you are going to trust a physiotherapist above my advice, go ahead. Come back in a few months and tell us if the kegels have helped.

I have done my own research and have spoken to my PT and had a somewhat honest conversation. I've decided to not continue with her treatment and trying your advice and booked into another PT for review.

I am taking your and everyone’s advice seriously and appreciate this place. I have the supplements on order you have recommended plus BCP 157 in tablet form

Ill check back in

Afternoon I now have the supplements recommended in this thread. I had a followup appointment with my GP today that was booked some time ago and has recommended I try amitriptyline for the pain that I have seen recommended around here. Would you suggest I also take this during my time off with the supplements recommended or could that possibly confuse a diagnosis.

Appreciate your help

There is no harm in taking the amitriptyline concurrently. However, cut the pills down and titrate up from the smallest piece, say ¼ of a tablet for a week, then ½, etc.
