Greetings everyone. I'm a new member of the forum and this is my first post.
I am 49 years old and was first diagnosed with chronic prostatitis / chronic pelvic pain syndrome at the age of 19. That makes me a 30 year veteran. Nothing to be happy about ! I was wondering if I am the exception. Are there any other long term sufferers out there?
I've tried just about everything but surgery (more antibiotics and antifungals than I can remember, drainage, hytrin , proscar, vioxx, quercetin ). I've finally found a uro. (Dr. Curtis Nickel) who understands this disease and I'm hopeful that sooner or later we will find something that works for me. I have never had a positive culture (urine,EPS,semen).
I get flare ups about twice a month. They last 4 or 5 days during which time my symptons are: low grade fever, sinus headache, general weakness, frequent and weak urination, pain in testicles & groin, occasional extremely painful spasms in perineum

Boy, I hope so!!
Sorry, but if you haven't figured out what causes your problem, I can't. Evertime I think I've narrowed down my problem, it recurs. Not as bad as before and not for as long, but still there. I've had this for three years and it is better now then ever. I am hoping it will just run it's coarse and disappear someday.

No, I really mean it. I don't know if anyone with chronic prostatitis / chronic pelvic pain syndrome can wish for something more than seeing Dr. Nickel!Desperato wrote:JD, do not be so humble :)
