I have been PLAGEUED by the problems you guys are duscussing throughout the forum:
Perenial Pain, Difficulty urinating, split weak stream, post ejaculatory pain, libido problems....amongstv others. Went to seveeral urologist and was told by most of them that my issues are anxiety related. I was reffered to PT and once after a biofeedback session I felt a lot better for about a week. I have several more times but then stopped. After pain attention to my sympotms and reading up on this desease I came closer to realization that my issues are directly related to muscle tension "down there", unfortunatly most of the time even though I realize that I am tense - I cannot help it. can't relax the muscles. Tonight I tried what someone here reccomended - relaxing when breathing with stomach instead of chest - and it did help. I truly believe that If I learn how to force myself to relax I can make significant progress on the whole prostate issue. What I am looking for is some relaxation techniques, maybe a link to articles about relaxations, know how on medatation, etc...
I know there are quite a few people who are knowlegable on the subject.
Looking for relaxation techniques

Thanks,
I also ran in to this page http://askwaltstollmd.com/relax.html
It does list the benefits of skilled relaxation, but it does not provide any info on HOW to do them. Does anyone here actually use a relaxation technique?

Paso is right - JD is the man to ask
I'd also advise sending off for this book : http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/ ... I'm/cp58-20
It actually tells you, step by step, how to do relax.

try this
http://askwaltstollmd.com/wwwboard/glossary/s.html#SR
Note that Dr. Stoll highly suggests doing SR TWICE a day, as opposed to once. The easiest way to do this, is to do it when you first wake up in the morning(20 minutes), and after work before dinner(20 minutes). This is a very easy routine to get into, that interferes with your life very little.
My SR(in cobination with exercise and nutrition) works really well for me, and I have good control of my pelvic muscles and symptoms now. Next summer, I'm going to look into moving to the west coast USA(Oregon), spending a LOT of time outside, exercising, and getting the hell out of the computer industry. I really think that spending too much time in front of the computer caused me to get this condition that I was predisposed towards having, and prevents me from healing it up completely. But I have definitely made a ton of progress.
I'm going to learn the Openfocus method of relaxation also
