Hey

I am taking the three - PEA, Quercetin and amitriptyline.

I also have coming prior to these purchases a healing peptide called BCP-157 in tablet form.

My doctor didn’t know of BCP-157 or if I should take it with the group of meds above.

Looking to see if safe to do so

  1. I have never heard of BCP 157 before. It is not studied in relation to UCPPS
  2. The studies that do exist are mostly about nerve healing, and other disorders, in rodents, where "Stable Gastric Pentadecapeptide BPC 157" is seen as helpful
  3. You are therefore self-treating with a novel agent. Nothing wrong with that, but there will be nobody to advise you.
  4. We have little to no knowledge of drug interactions with BPC 157. I suggest you do not take it at the same time as the other drugs and medications. Take it at the opposite end of the day.
  5. Wikipedia hints that the BPC 157 is being pushed by one group, perhaps for commercial reasons: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/BPC-157
  6. You can read studies concerning BPC 157 here: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/?term=BPC+157

3½ weeks in and I thought I would provide an update. No change in pain so far but appears pain is lessened when I am standing vs sitting. I have after the 6 weeks is up an MRI, PF PT (new) and Pain specialist appointment. Mentally I am feeling better but I am still feeling upset that I am currently dealing with an issue such as CPPS or nerve damage. My PF feels loose and healthy via PF stretching Just to bookmark I'm on month 7 of my current pain.
Thanks
Dave

Gday all

So it's been 7 weeks and this is what had happened in that time.
  1. Amitriptyline 20mg once daily at night
  2. new PF physio
  3. pain specialist - radiotherapy
  4. Quercetin, BCP 150 and PEA once daily
  5. ultrasound and MRI came back all clear and normal
PV PT- did ab assessment and said I have a short and tight pelvic floor by sticking her finger in and getting me to do tret clinches abs release. I have a program of stretching, massaging the area and breathing for now but will build on. Will also do internal trigger point if needed but says in men she finds the outside trigger work usually is just as effective

I go back in a few weeks for more consult

MRI/ultrasound- all clear and normal

Pain specialist- says it is a bruising of the pudendal nerves and wants to insert needles that give a radio frequency pulse to shock the nerves and settle them down.

That's my update, I wanted to see what you all think??

Sorry webslave i was half alseep when i wrote that. The pain specialist specialises in pelvic floor.

He thinks the pudendal nerves are bruised or damaged and plans to insert needles into those nerves and send electric pulses to ‘make them behave properly’ have you ever heard of this? I was if you recall trying to see which path is correct for treatment being PF vs Injury.

I now have a PT that i trust who says it’s definitely a PF problem and a pain specialist dr who says its a pudendal nerve problem and not a pevlic floor problem.

Any thoughts?

People tend to diagnose problems within their own speciality. I tend to go the conservatives route which means doing the pelvic floor therapy first and only if there is no improvement there moving onto nerve injections.

Another thing webslave… is there a correlation between tight muscles and PE? I would like to chat with someone about it to see if I'm ‘normal’

Yes, hypertonic pelvic muscles can lead to an inflamed genitourinary tract, and that in turn can lead to PE. So there can be a connection.

Ok and there are methods discussed on the web to train to remove PE, are they valuable and is this problem fixable through these methods

I would approach it both ways: use the well known methods for controlling PE, and also do all you can to relax the pelvic floor.

Thanks webslave - can you point me in the right direction to fix PE. Also I want to do Kegels again one day. Is it ever possible for people with this condition/injury once healed to do them again without fear of relapse or pain?

I would always avoid Kegels.
