There’s not infection (unless the MicroGen DX test shows something). But I’m sure there was one. So I’m wondering what of those conditions can have been caused by an infection.

I’m 80kg, 183cm. I had a regular health checkup where they took my blood half year ago. Think they would have seen high blood sugar then. Or is it a very specialized test that would unlikely happen in a regular health checkup?

What can explain the high WBC in my urine? Isn’t that normally a sign of infection? Especially when I have all these other symptoms?

So BMI 23.9, but while about 80% of people with diabetes are overweight or obese, it happens to thin people as well. Still worth checking. But as you say, they should have checked it at the regular checkup, so unlikely that you are prediabetic.

Both infection and inflammation can cause high WBCs. When are you getting the MicroGen DX?

I’ll do it tomorrow. Was waiting until Monday because Fedex doesn’t ship on weekend. And I was waiting for an answer from their customer support first.

What’s the relationship between my urinary symptoms and:

1) Constipation? During the same time when this all happened (unprotected sex leading to discharge and urge to pee) I also started to develop chronic diarrhea. I was treated with several antibiotics (of which one seemed to cure my urethritis) and all stool examinations turned out negative. I don’t have diarrhea anymore but my stool didn’t return to normal either. The color is much lighter than it used to be and it’s thinner pieces that are very soft. The only times when it comes out as it used to be (one big dark brown piece) is when I have to press a lot. Those days my urinary symptoms are normally better.

2) Sports/workout? Almost every time when I do sports, the urge to pee and pressure in the urethra is gone. Is it just because there’s no water in my body left that could press? Because I also feel better when I don’t drink much (which I understand I should not do though).

What is it then? It really makes me nervous. I never had this, only when I had an STI.

I’ve fedexed the MicroGenDX urine sample. Hope I’ll get the prelim result within this week, the full report maybe mid or end of next week.

Other than that I think I’m feeling better. There are days now where the urge to pee is so little that it’s bearable and only the discharge (or whatever it is) keeps irritating and bothering me.

I remember how little water I used to drink throughout the day and am wondering whether I’m just not used to drinking that much (I currently feel best when I don’t drink much or space it evenly throughout the day in small portions).

I still have hope that all of this is just the results of an urethritis that needs more time to heal, like the Uro told me.

You should be urinating 800ml - 2L a day. More than 2.5L is excessive.

Drink about 1.5 - 2 liters a day.

Keep a voiding and drinking diary for a few days.

Thanks. I reduced my water intake today and it feels much better. Now my symptoms are limited to that feeling of having some fluid or discharge stuck inside my urethra. I’ll continue this and start a diary over the next days.

My fedex package was also delivered do MDX. Hope I’ll receive the prelim result tomorrow or the day after.

What are some supplements I could try? any accredited quercetin product or [discontinued product]? Both?

I didn’t receive any email from MDX yet. Guess they’re also not working over the weekend.

At the same time, my symptoms are confusing. I had two days in a row now where the urge to pee and the itching/pressing sensation in the urethra/tip was completely gone after I ate lots of carbs/white bread on an almost empty stomach. I will try this again today to see what happens. It’s somewhat counterintuitive because carbs and white bread in particular are not known to be the healthiest diet. In fact, both for IBS as well as prostatitis I read recommendations to eliminate it from your diet. (Only for IC it is marked as fine.)

The discharge however got more. During the day, I was able to squeeze out the tiny bit that I can see inside the penis. It’s a clear sticky fluid. This morning on the other hand my penis tip was leaking lots of clear watery discharge. Before I would think that this is just urine leakage but this morning it was almost four hours after the last pee. The penis gland also showed some Candida like white cheesy substance peeling of.


If the MDX comes back negative, I am actually considering taking five days of Azithromyzin:

1. I have clearly symptoms of urethritis.

2. If all the tests are correct it means there’s no bacterial infection so I cannot do much harm (I.e. create any bacterial resistance) by taking antibiotics. The biggest harm I could do is upset my gut and having some days of nausea and loss of appetite

3. If the tests are false negatives, the most likely culprit would be Mycoplasma Genitalium I believe. It is the most difficult to detect; much more difficult than Chlamydia and Ureaplasma which even can be cultured (MG cannot be cultured). The symptoms of discharge and mild testicular pain also fit and the fact that the initial rapid test for Gonnorhea and Chlamydia was negative would also support this theory. I was able to get rid of it once (before I got reinfected) by taking three days of Azithromyzin which is close to the first line treatment for MG of five days Azithromyzin.

4. Doctors seem to give antibiotics based on symptoms anyways. I was never tested when I went to a doctor with urethritis; I was given antibiotics purely based on symptoms appearing after sex. If I would go to a new doctor now and not tell him that all tests are negative I would be given antibiotics for NSU.

Maybe this is all wrong and just me being desperate. But I deem the risks rather low compared to the outlook of maybe curing a low-level infection that doesn’t show up on all the tests.
