- I had unprotected sex and got UTI symptoms a few days after. I’m sure it must be an STI because I later got reinfected (after initial antibiotics success). I’m now in a state where all tests turn out negative but I keep having urinary symptoms (clear discharge deep inside the penis which I cannot squeeze out; pressure in the penis with frequent urge to pee, followed by days where I don’t have to pee; mild pain in one testicle and around the anus).
- Unprotected sex resulting in clear sticky discharge 2 days after and frequent need to urinate.
- Rapid urine test for Chlamydia and Gonorrhoea negative, so I thought it’s nothing.
- Around the same time diarrhea. Thought it’s from a food poisoning I had before so gave myself Cipro which I got from the doctor the last time (when it worked). Went to the doctor after three days who then gave my Azithromycin (3 days 500mg). Asked for an urinalysis which turned out completely fine.
- Thought it’s not an STI and had sex with another girl.
- After taking Azithromyzin, symptoms went away. Diarrhea didn’t go away.
- Sometime later, had sex with the same girl again. Same discharge comes back 2 days after, so I’m sure it’s an STI and I got reinfected.
- Was traveling during that time without access to doctors. But took Doxycycline for other reasons; first 1 tablet a day for two weeks, then increased to 2x per day for a week after UTI symptoms didn’t improve. During that time, no sticky discharge anymore but clear water-like discharge inside the tip of the penis combined with more urge to pee.
- Back in my home country, went to the doctor. Urinalysis negative; doctor said I should take UriSpas against the symptoms and wait first given the Doxycycline that I took. He thought it’s just an irritation.
- few days later I panic and self medicate myself with Azithromyzin (1g in a single dose).
- Three days after I don’t feel improvement. Go to the doctor who doesn’t want to give more antibiotics. Says everything should be gone given the two strong antibiotics. Had a multiplex PCR urine test for 7 STI which turns out negative.
- Other doctor gives me Metronidazole 3x per day for a week against the diarrhea. If that doesn’t work, advises to do an expensive stool test and maybe a colonoscopy.
- Another few days later symptoms are gone. I’m happy and think it’s all good. At the same time going through a big HIV panic. With the diarrhea not going away and the antibiotics causing me loss of appetite and loss of weight, I’m 100% sure I have HIV. Several 4th antibody/antigen do not make me feel better even though all are negative and the ID doctor tells me there’s nothing to worry. Only an additional DNA test that can detect the virus earlier than the antibody/antigen tests helps me getting over it.
- I think it’s all good but another week or so later urinary symptoms come back. Start with feeling of some wetness inside the penis, then I can see discharge deep inside the penis. It’s not enough to squeeze out. Later I also get mild pain in one testicle and around the anus. Going back to the doctor he says it’s just an irritation which will go away. Urinalysis negative. Advises me against spending money on another urine STI Test but I’m doing it anyway (3 weeks after the Azithromyzin and 2 weeks after the Metronidazole) and it’s all negative again.
- Diarrhea gets a bit better but I’m still having poo that’s somewhat soft-mushy and different color than I’m used to. Doing the expensive stool exam which turns out negative for everything (bacteria, parasites etc.).
- Going to another urologist. Urinalysis negative; swab from penis negative; semen test negative. Tells me it’s just an irritation from the infection and that it will go away.
- Still no improvement two weeks later. Go back to the second urologist who doesn’t really believe me. Another urinalysis is negative again but with lots of mucus. Doctor cannot see any discharge (but how would he after I just took a pee for the urinalysis?). Tells me again it’s just an irritation that will clear up. I tell him it’s already 7 weeks since the Azithromyzin (10 weeks since the reinfection) but he tells me with confidence it may take another month or so. Gives me some pills for symptomatic relief.

Re: CPPS symptoms after unprotected sex
18) Urologist in another forum tells me I should stop worrying about an infection as it clearly doesn’t look like one. Says me panicking may contribute to it. Others point to Prostatitis. I start trying some of the home remedies: prostate supplements, no coffee/alcohol/spicy food, change of diet to more veggies and less carbs, red meat, and sugar. Feeling quite well on some days with the urinary symptoms almost completely gone. At those days however I start worrying that I should pee but there’s nothing. Start worrying about having to rush to the hospital to get a catheter. It’s worst on one way when I almost don’t pee the whole day (despite drinking plenty of water and going to the toilet often, only some drops would come). The next day I drink a lot again and pee a lot the whole day, but the pressure down there and urge to pee comes back. I feel worst that day. Then the next day I feel almost perfect.
My diarrhea is gone by now. Now I feel like I’m more having constipation.
I will order an MDX test kit and get all the urine and semen tests done again as well.
Other than that, any idea what this could be?
I should add that had a pretty bad lifestyle my whole life: almost no sports; sitting the whole day; bad posture; bad diet (almost only carbs and red meat; not veggies); alcohol and coffee; very stressful job. I was never able to hold an erection for more than maybe 5-10 minutes and used Viagra often. I also don’t have a lot of sperm when I ejaculate.
I used to have a prostate issue some years back but unrelated to sex and it was only about having to get up pee during the night and mild pain in one testicle. Doctor at that time after negative urine test told me it’s normal for guys during cold weather and will go away (which it did).
What’s making me panic is that this time it’s clearly related to unprotected sex and the UTI symptoms (urge to pee and slight discharge deep inside the penis) don’t go away. Though I’m not sure whether it’s actually discharge inside there or urine. I definitely have urine leaking (clearly saw it when I was taking the symptomatic relief pills which turn the urine red).

Re: CPPS symptoms after unprotected sex
My symptoms also started after sex.
Did you happen to follow up with the girls so they can get tested?
Do you have any issues with sitting down? Burning?
You are like me. Over thinking and super anxious and ultra aware. Can you correlate stress and anxiety with the ups and downs of symptoms?

Re: CPPS symptoms after unprotected sex
- So you suspect STI, but no proof. After a "few days" it could only be chlamydia or gonorrhoea. Both were tested and you are negative for both, so no STI.
- Discharge is not related to sex, it's related to inflammation most likely.
- Not nothing, but not STI.
- Diarrhea ... do you get this often?
- -
- Could be IBS
- Wrong conclusion
- -
- You need to forget about infections
- Unwise
- Predictable
- Metronidazole won't help with IBS
- "Sure you have HIV" — signs of hypervigilance
- More hypervigilance
- Investigate diet, this is probably IBS
- Wasting money on urologists
- More wasting money
- This uro is correct. Diet changes have helped diarrhea, so IBS is likely. Anxiety about urination points to a lot of hypervigilance and anxiety, which can lead to poor prognosis.

Re: CPPS symptoms after unprotected sex
Not much issues with sitting down other than that it feels better to sit with my legs crossed tightly now (which I normally rarely would do). So far I couldn’t correlate ups and downs of symptoms with stress.sopalegumens wrote: Thu Oct 31, 2019 4:31 pm Do you have any issues with sitting down? Burning?

I should add that it was a “rapid” urine test from an STD shop. Not a proper clinic; not a proper multiplex PCR test. I’m not sure how reliable the test was.webslave wrote: Thu Oct 31, 2019 10:10 pm

Not much to comment on here, you should make diet a special interest and try various approaches to overcome anxiety.
1. First discharge and urinary symptoms two days after unprotected sex?
2. Those discharge and symptoms go away with Azithromyzin?
3. Discharge and urinate symptoms come back again two days after unprotected sex with a girl that I had sex with before taking Azithromyzin and Cipro?
It really is the discharge and urinary symptoms that’s keeping my head around the idea of an STI because I never had those other than after unprotected sex and it would always clear up with a short course of antibiotics. The first sex here (that led to the first discharge) wasn’t even that wild or long (it was actually rather quick and vanilla).
IBS is possible I guess given my bad diet habits. I also remember I used to have a lot of bloating (incl. farting during the night) which I don’t seem to have anymore since I got this episode of chronic diarrhea and the suspected infection. Please note however that I only changed diet habits very recently.
I normally wouldn’t get diarrhea often. Normally not at all (only after certain foods like spicy things etc.). So this episode of chronic diarrhea and soft stool was really something I didn’t have before (it lasted a good six weeks or more). Some weeks before I had a food poisoning related diarrhea which cleared after a short course of Cipro (that’s why I self medicated with Cipro in the first place because I thought it would help with the Diarrhea plus maybe with the urinary symptoms as well).
What other things can cause such clear and sticky discharge after unprotected sex?
I have to admit that I had a lot of unprotected sex during the last ca. 10 years and a lot of UTI/STI (though most were never diagnosed but only treated with antibiotics after discharge). So I thought I know when something is wrong with my penis, especially when there is something inside that normally isn’t inside.

- I played football in the evening
- I masturbated
- I drank a lot of water but almost didn’t pee at all (only dribbling) which made me worry
- I didn’t take prostate supplements (just some random product from iHerbs containing Saw Palmetto, Lycophene, Zinc etc.)
- I had constipation

Re: CPPS symptoms after unprotected sex
Don't do that. The obsessives start doubting the tests, and the obsessives are the most difficult to cure. The next step down this path is to start talking about "stealth bacteria". It's a rabbit hole.amnesia wrote: Fri Nov 01, 2019 1:11 am I should add that it was a “rapid” urine test from an STD shop. Not a proper clinic; not a proper multiplex PCR test. Could be an allergy (woman get them, why not men https://sti.bmj.com/content/80/1/4 )if it is no infection, then why
1. First discharge and urinary symptoms two days after unprotected sex?
Could be a reaction to sex lubricants especially those containing glycerin, parabens, or propylene glycol. Your female partner may have primed herself for intercourse by using such a lubricant.
Could be NSU.
Azithromycin is an anti-inflammatoryThose discharge and symptoms go away with Azithromyzin?

I go with the lubricant theory. If you ask her, she'll probably deny it though.Discharge and urinate symptoms come back again two days after unprotected sex with a girl that I had sex with before taking Azithromyzin and Cipro?

Re: CPPS symptoms after unprotected sex
If it’s in fact an allergy or due to a lubricant, can that be transmitted to someone else? As I wrote above, we are talking about two different girls:
1) Unprotected sex with first girl, discharge after two days starts
2) Unprotected sex with second girl before taking antibiotics because I didn’t think it’s an STI
3) My own symptoms go away after taking Azithromyzin but come back after sex with second girl (who I had unprotected sex with before without a problem)
So it seems I passed something on to the second girl which I first got from the first girl.
Also I didn’t see the first girl use any lubricant. In fact, her pussy didn’t feel lubricated at all.

Re: CPPS symptoms after unprotected sex
No lubes? The "discharge" could just be leakage of prostatic fluid then. Some men get that after ejaculation. Is it clear, slippery?

Re: CPPS symptoms after unprotected sex
I didn’t see her using any lubrication and it felt difficult to get in.
If it’s just leakage of prostatic fluid, why would that occur only 2 days after the sex and with two different girls? I never had such issue after sex (especially not with that second girl where I worry I might have passed something to her). I only had such issue when I suspected an UTI (in which cases I would get antibiotics from the doctor and things would be gone after a week). But yes, it’s clear and slippery. Definitely not white or yellow and thick (so I ruled our Gonorrhea).
I would love to believe that it wasn’t an infection in the first place, I just can’t explain then why these symptoms happen, especially with two different girls. It just looks like an infection that I passed on to the second girl who then later reinfected me again.

Did you consider NSU?

Re: CPPS symptoms after unprotected sex
Yes, that’s what I suspected. But an NSU is an infection right? Which I might have passed on to the other girl and got it back from her later.
And if it was an NSU, why do I still have symptoms two months after taking Azithromyzin (and Doxycycline before)? Ideally it’s just the irritation or inflammation taking longer to heal (because I didn’t take the right dosage of antibiotics for the first two weeks when I only took one pill or Doxy per day). Worst case is the wrong dosage of antibiotics created bacterial resistance and/or the bacteria are hiding in the prostate and don’t show on any tests so far.

Re: CPPS symptoms after unprotected sex
While it could be NSU, the persistence despite antibiotics makes me think the uros are right, this is an irritation that may settle with time, and if it does not settle it may indicate something else, perhaps CPPS. You have mentioned pain.

What could that something else be? I have only mild pain in the right testicle and around the anus. Only sometimes though and I thought it got better.
Other than that, it’s urinary symptoms:
- I can see there’s some discharge (or maybe retained Urine) stuck inside the penis
- I have an urge to urinate and/or a feeling of pressure in the penis
- I suspect there could be urine leakage (I could clearly see it when I took the meds for symptom relief which turn the urine red and I had red stains in my underwear)
