I believe you are supposed to exhale on the drop of the pelvic floor, and breathe up on the lift, but you only lift it slightly. That is what I got out of the video Webslave provided above. That's where the "Shhhhhhh!" comes with the drop which is the exhale. I used to laugh about this at PT early on. I would do the exact opposite breathing in and out as I should. The video specifies this near the end, and how it makes more sense to do it the wrong way, but you must do the opposite.

Gotcha now on the F-act... Thanks!

Frequency, urgency, inability to always empty, burning and numbing uretheral, penile & perineum pain. Frequent urination at night.| Helped By: Internal PT. Myrbetriq helps but is by no means great. TENS to help sleep, and hand held massages of the lower back, hips and buttocks. Standing and physical labor help. Stretches and hot baths. Occasionally use gel iced pad on the perineum. Hey Mr. David, I’m very surprised your physical therapist would tell you to forget everything you know and just do the kegels is the most ridiculous thing I heard. He doesn’t want to do the trigger point release because it will flare a person up??? Of course when pressed upon it will start to recreate symptoms but if the person holds it for a while you will start to feel the pain subside. When I did my physical therapy with Marilyn Freedman, she really pressed hard on my trigger points to the point that it flared me up, but as she pressed and held it, the pain started to go away. Believe me when I tell you doing kegels is the wrong thing to do !!! You will suffer from experience. I practice just letting the rectum muscles go freely without any tightening with deep breathing and felt that this has helped to relax my pelvis. Have you tried internal work with a therwand to help with the testicle pain ? Push on the levator ani muscles to see if your testicle pain is recreated. I know pushing on those internal muscles recreates my symptoms. This was a big light bulb moment for me!

Thanks Amonges for the tips!

A small update: I contacted Fetske yesterday from F-act. She seems to be a very kind and friendly person with a lot of knowledge. Tomorrow I will have a call with her to see what she can do for me. She mentioned that it is not "an easy fix" and that I need to be proactive. Perhaps it is strange, but I'm glad she said this, because this condition is NOT easy. I'm getting very annoyed of PTs who talk about that it is curable in 3 sessions. So I'm very positive about this one!

Talked to her again this morning and, again, I'm very positive. She had very detailed and well-explained answers on all of my questions, so I'm in. She calls me back later this day to discuss when my treatment can start. It is expensive for me as a just-graduated student, but I have the feeling that it is definitely worth the shot and the money!

I feel that I'm lucky that I have such a specialized PT at only 2 hours away. I will keep you guys posted on my way to recovery.

Update: Treatment will start at the end of November. A bit disappointed about it as it is going to take so long to start. It will most definitely mean that I will lose my job and so my car and my income.

But when life is tough, i need to be tougher.

I had to prove to my boss that I am getting better before the end of November, otherwise he wouldn't extend my contract after 31/12/2018. I just wrote an email to him with an explanation about everything, so I hope for the best.

Otherwise I will lose my job and so my car (lease car from work which I could use for free for private use)

Whenever I try to walk, I have this feeling of pressure in my scrotum.

Whenever I am on my elliptical trainer at home to work on my condition, I am pain free. If i touch them I have pain, but if I don't touch them I can keep using the eliptical without pain. But afterwards I feel terrible. I always have a very tight scrotum after working out. I think it pushes my testicles on one another, which causes pain, as they are sensitive. Also my abs are very tight and sore afterwards.

I always relax my pelvic floor when on the eliptical and I feel finally that I'm living again.

Is it because my transverse abs are too weak so that they are compensating?

I hope your start to feel better MrDavid. When you see the therapist ask her to check your abdomen for trigger points. Things will get better you will see. Keep on with the stretching and learning about internal and external trigger point.

Hi Amonges! Unfortunately I'm having a bad time at the moment. At the end of November I'm starting PT with someone who is specialized in triggerpoints so I'm looking forward to it!

I went to the pelvic floor PT with its biofeedback for the last time this thursday. (I had to go. In this country, if you cancel your appointment, the insurance does not cover it. So I just went in order to not lose money, lol). I think the probe flared me up big times. He removed the probe and it was really painful. The probe gave a score of around 12.5 and I couldn't get it down.

For the last 2 days I'm thinking that I try to relax my pelvic floor the wrong day. When breathing in, I'm psuhing the pelvic floor down, especially around the anus.

Now I try to let the pelvix floor loose and this gives this tingling feeling in my penis that I'm going to piss, but just not yet. I never felt his way before. Is this the right way to relax the pelvix floor, or is it too much?

Did you watch the video that Webslave posted? Watch it again and keep practicing breathing OUT on the DROP! Think of a balloon as it deflates it DROPS. I was making stupid mistakes like this early on while doing PT. I felt like an uncoordinated idiot. Practice makes perfect. You can do it, but you got to work on it. Everything will fall in order.

When I watched the video, I kept stopping it and repeating it over and over again in spots just to make I was hearing it right. Oddly they kind of talk to fast. When they tell you to breathe then exhale, they say it faster than you actually should do it. I'm like this chick is saying breathe out "SHHHHHHH!!" when I'm trying to still breathe in. I'm like - slowwwwww downnnnnn! LOL!!!

You'll get it it!
