I went to a Urologist today. Dr. Larry Bans (prostate solutions of Arizona) in Phoenix, AZ. I went just to have a Urologist examine my prostate, I am 100% on board with Wise-Anderson protocol and have read hours upon hours on here about CPPS. I just wanted to at least get a Docs thoughts on my condition. Dr. Bans is suppose the best doc for prostate in Phoenix.
I briefly explained my thoughts that I have a neuromuscular problem with my pelvic floor and how it started from over-sexual activity. He basically agreed with me. He gave me a prostate exam and also examined my pelvic floor. He actually found a few TP's and said it felt like taught bands, like ligaments in there..... which hurt like hell when he pressed on them, 8 out of 10 on pain scale!!! He then massage my prostate to excrete some fluid to examine it for inflammation. He put the prostate fluid under microscope in his office and showed me the white blood cells and the how they looked very inflamed and the big cluster of cells. He said "yep you have chronic prostatitis"
He said he could culture it but that its 95% always non-bacterial and I didn't have any symptoms of bacterial infection. He told me to take any accredited quercetin product for the inflammation, I told him I had been taking
Quercetin from vitamin shop for 1.5 months already. He then prescribed me Bactrim (antibiotic), I asked him why he would do that when he said its not bacterial, he agreed with me but said that it still seems to help, I questioned him again on this and he still thought it would be good to take it. Thought I'd clear up in a month.
My questions are:
1. Is there ever any good that can come from taking Bactrim if its non-bacterial. I've already ready many posts on here that basically all say no, but a lot of what the Dr. Bans said was pretty spot on.
2. Does anyone have any good advice on finding a PT that does internal work on men, and that is even familiar with Wise-Anderson. I have this website and will call a few of them that aren't just womens clinics
http://www.pelvicpain.org/providers/find_provider.aspx. Does Dr. Wise know of people around the US?
I'd love to go to the clinic but I just can't take that much time off work. The biggest thing I learned from the Dr. Bans is that there are definitely TP in my pelvis that need some work and that my prostate is definitely inflamed.
Thanks again in advance for any thoughts.
