Moment to Moment

Post by chath »

Any advise on Moment to Moment relaxation? I try to do it as often as possible, but sometimes I think I'm "pushing" too much, does that make sense? I can clearly feel a "drop" in the muscles when I do it though, is that what others experience? How much should I do it?

Thanks.

If you are working on a computer, you can get software programs that pop up reminders at set intervals to remind you to drop the pelvis. That could be helpful. I don't think you can consciously relax "too much".

For Firefox users, there is a neat add-on (extension) called Reminderfox that allows you to set up a daily event and then ask for Notifications every x minutes. Very useful.
Good News! The great ProstaQ is BACK at last! You must try it.

Webslave - so does it feel like your muscles are dropping down when you do it? Also, you basically just mimic the function of urinating to do it, correct? I worry about pushing it too much. Thanks for the help.

Yes, there is a dropping sensation. Why are you pushing? This is a relaxation, not an effort.

I guess I don't know the difference between relaxing the pelvis and pushing or straining down.......the degree to which you relax the pelvis is confusing to me. Seems I can push and it will drop a lot.

Age:33 | Onset Age:19 | Symptoms:burning urethra, deep sore stinging around the perineum, dribbling | Helped By:when flare starts deep relaxing over a toilet to let out dribbling urine, hot bath, rubbing a heat cream on the perineum, Tens with a pad on the perineum, running, medication (solpadol) for pain. Current treatment: PT. | Worsened By:sitting, stressing over it, ejaculation, sometimes alcohol but I risk it. Been feeling a lot better last 6 months about 85% with a few flares lasting about 5 days. No longer having PT. Stretching every other night and I believe time is also a big factor for me
