Possible breakthroughs
hm, it's not exactly the same for me, at least I think. I'm still trying to understand what's going on in my case. will let you know if something surfaces.
Started: Spring 2003; high urinary frequency and pain associated with bladder filling; urinary hesitancy; pubic/prostate/perineal discomfort; Helped by: trigger point therapy, Afrin nasal spray, Cymbalta, hydrocodone (small doses), distraction. Makes worse: sex.

The gas thing is a serious problem for me. Actually this morning I did both, internal massage and stomach massage too for about half an hour each. I was expelling gases every 5 minutes. And every time I do this, I start feeling better. (Because I did wake up with sort of cramps in my stomach and weird feeling in my pelvis).
I always thought that these were two separate problems, but maybe not. In my family with have the great intestine problem ( gases get stuck there I assume).
I just bought Gas-X extra strength I think I will take it regularly for a while to see if getting rid of the gases decrease the intensity of the cramps or something. But again I am very interested in any scientific , both theoretical and empirical links.
Thank you

how healthy is your digestive tract?
You may benefit from taking a)digestive enzymes with meals and b)supplementing with the healthy bacteria that line our digestive track. To get the real deal you have to buy them cold, and store in a refrigerator. Your local health store should have these (wild oats or something similar). I know one is called Bifidus, but there are several.
What can occur is a build up of the unhealthy bacteria which kill the naturally occurring flora, and create havoc on the digestive track leading to intense bouts of gas. I got this from ABs and had to rebuild my GI.
Yoghurt is a natural source of these beneficiary flora, but the dairy my upset you.
I am no doctor, and don't know if this will help, but it helped me.
Good luck,
SS

cymbalta
I tried Cymbalta.
I have been on it for 2 & 1/2 months now. I can't see that it has helped my depression or pain. But then again, I have not found ANY medication that has other than Ambien to help me sleep. Valium helped for penile base pain which I rarely get any more after many months of PT but it does nothing for my testicle pain and urgency which I have 24/7.PT did not help that either..
