I agree, he merely asked about excreting the inflamatory substances that are trapped in the prostate. Anyway, I'm sure no one is going to get banned for just typing the word, right? I think the point of the rule is to keep someone out who insists that we can all be cured by the right type of ABX and prostate massage, etc...

the contraction/relaxation of the muscles post-ejaculation or just that body is asking me to be regular or that there are inflammatory substances that are normal residents of the prostate not caused by any infections that want to get out

34 yr consultant, suffering from intermittently past 2 yrs. Tried various prostate supplements, symptoms relieved by ejaculation.

I always had similar questions when it was giving me relief. Even my PT couldn't explain it very well. But I guess I found my answer over time, it wasn't really helping me, just giving me temporary relief and making things worse in the long run. Even when it was giving me relief, my frequency was only about 3-4 times a week...I never pushed the envelope to everyday. I have now cut back to 1-2 times a week, since it seems to be bringing on discomfort instead of helping it.
Age: 45 Onset: 43. | Symptoms: Tightness, spasms, burning and pain in the perineum. Occassional mild pain after urination in the perineum. Helped by: Cardura, quitting caffiene, relaxation, fiber, stand up workstation and some PT a year ago. There are a couple of things going on with ejaculation. Firstly, if ejaculation is particularly intense and accompanied by tremendous tensing of the pelvic muscles (as some men are prone to doing), then it can "goose" the pelvic nerves and cause a flare lasting up to a week. This contradictory dual nature of ejaculation usually leads men to decide to have gentle orgasms (relax during orgasm if masturbating, get underneath partner and relax during coitus) so as not to irritate the pelvic nerves, but to do it reasonably frequently (at least once a week) to prevent a build-up of noxious secretions.

I hope 2/3 times a week is not too frequent in the long run. Question is how do we arrive at this frequency without an objective way of telling us what's happening in the long run. I will definitely continue the stretching..
Also, I make sure the act is not prolonged; lasting only for 5 mins or so.

wow....don't you guys go insane with only 2-3 or less per week? Maybe it's just me, but I wouldn't be able to focus on anything if I had to stay at that level. Of course, when I was having a really tough time, getting one off was far from my mind and that really contributes to depression. But I'd say I'm at least once a day, if not more. SOmetimes I'm like a jack rabbit, but then again, I've always been that way since I was 12 and I'm still in my early 20s.
Sometimes it hurts, other times it relaxes everything but the pain is never enough to make me stop having sexual activity or severely lessening it.

Right now, I think I'm having a flair because my pain level is probably a 4-5 in the perineum and I notice it's spasming down there, having some weaker urine flow. It's probably smart to rest the boys a bit when your pain is up eh?

I'd say listen to your body. My perineum is still the place I feel it the most when I overdo it. Make sure you are doing the squat stretch, and get a Theracane if you don't already have one to work on the muscles in the perineum. once again for all the people who think once a day is too much, I ejaculate 3 times a day every day since I was like 13 or something. Doesnt affect my CCPS,, well, unless this is actually how I brought CCPS onto myself. I have tried slowing down/stopping (not for too long) I'd say it made my symptoms worse. However prolonged erections, sexual activity sometimes do make it worse. I'm trying to go down to 2 times a day though,, takes time to break habits.
OK, too lazy to change my signature, but my sympoms have improved significantly, some went away competely. Old sig below.
Age: 27 | Onset Age: 23 | Symptoms: differ from year to year, anal/buttocks pain(especially when moving around/walking), burning when pee every once in a while, muscle tightness after peeing, sometimes but rarely burning after,, but no urgency , i pee about 4-5 times a day. Stomach bloating, hard to pass gas, occasional sharp pain in right side lower abs.
Helped By: alcohol(maybe i am wrong about this one,, helps some symtoms, possibly makes other symptoms worse), water, Beer always cures urethra pains/burning.
| Worsened By: showers, defecation, massage?, stress, winter, early spring, Snapple diet iced tea?.
Makes no difference: sitting(try putting something under back legs of your chair to tilt it slightly), masturbation(2-3 times a day usually),(update, now down to 1-2 times a day), used to ride bike without a seat on for 4 hours some days 3-4 days a week- no problem, spicy foods - no problem, 3-4 cups of black tea a day- no problem
