I did not modify anything you said or put words in your mouth. I simply deleted one paragraph of your original post which contained misinformation and violated our posting guidelines.
Please let me know before I make a decision as to wether I will be leaving this forum or not. While you are a moderator, I'll not have the right to my opinions (based on my own experiences) taken away by anyone or arbitrarily replaced by an opposing view. It's a shame that things are getting off to a rocky start here but hopefully these differences can be resolved so we can move on.
I hope so too.
Also, "increased blood flow" is not an issue here since antibiotics are UNABLE to reach the infected/inflamed acini of the prostate and thus "penetrate" it.
That simply isn't true. Do a search of medline, and you'll find studies showing that antibiotics such as Levaquin have excellent penetration of the prostate.
Finally, I did'nt see a "sticky" but I do see a link that clearly suggests that we are free to talk about anything and I also see at the very top, a textual reference to prostatitis so when I registered here, I was fairly certain that this was one of the topics that could be discussed. Perhaps you need to be more clear about this being a chronic prostatitis / chronic pelvic pain syndrome forum *only* so hapless, confused people like myself will have no doubt(?). Just a friendly suggestion.
That's a valid point, and it's being discussed today by this forum's administration. Thanks for bringing it up.
Just another note here. I agree that Cipro, Levaquin and other quinalone antibiotics are BAD NEWS and believe me, the Levaquin is literally killing me but I am so afraid of the prostatitis returning that I dare not stop taking it. I have 12 days left to go. Hopefully I'll survive them but already my toes are almost completely numb, I ache all over and generally feel very "unwell".
I worry that you will suffer long-term side effects from these drugs as many people do.
And another thing. I had BACTERIAL prostatitis which was diagnosed by a licensed urologist after an EPS w/ culture so this was definately NOT a case of where I was given an antibiotic just so that I could feel like "something was being done".
In studies, bacteria are found in the EPS of controls (men without prostatitis or any form of urological disease), so the bacteria found in your EPS (not all bacteria are bad, and we even need some of them in our bodies in order to stay healthy) do not prove that you have bacterial prostatitis, which is characterized by recurrent urinary tract infections. (How many if any times have you had a positive urinalysis?) Again, please read all or much of
https://ucpps.men . This forum and that website are the best sources of information on prostatitis on the internet. Much of what is found on the web is junk and driven by profit motives.
Please contact me by email or private message if you wish to continue this disagreement/argument further.
