Hi guys I'm new to this unique and somewhat debilitating disease and could use some advice from some of my fellow sufferors. I have read much of this forum already and to save a lot of time and hassle my story is much like the story found in the General Discussion under the heading "Classic story of a 'Prostatitus' Patient." After being intimate with someone who I really didn't know to well, I began to worry about if I could have contracted something, which I didn't according to numerous tests. I've seen a lot of doctors and Urologists since this began effecting me and I have been thrown on numerous different types of antibiotics with little to no success. I'm now on a quinolone and am using a topical cream which seems to be allieviating my symptoms for the time being. I have read on this forum that stress can play a major role in this disease. Could I have gotten this from my worrying about picking up something? I was curious what exactly is this "Skilled Relaxation" that I keep reading about? I have recently begun practicing Yoga and was wondering if this is considered as a form of "Skilled Relaxation" if not I would like to know what is. Ever since I began doing research on this subject I have begun to notice that my symptoms have begun to slowly get better, but they are still here, some better than others. I guess that I should show you exactly what my symptoms are so that maybe you guys can give me some advice. My symptoms include:
-Redness at the tip of my penis, looks a little raw at times.
-A bit of discomfort at the tip of my penis when it rubs against my underwear, though not as bad as when I had first noticed it.
-A slight burning sensation in my penis after I urinate.
-Frequent urination at times followed by periods of dribble.
-A sparadic stream at times, which becomes more focused as I finish what I have to do.
-A dull ache in my penis.
-A dull ache in my testicles.
-A weird sort of feeling in my prostate's general area, fullness? dull ache at times, very rare but at times sort of stabby feeling.
-I had an anal itch which was quite noticeable when I first started showing symptoms, but I do not notice this as much, if any, anymore.
-Sitting for long periods of time doesn't help much either. At times it actually makes my situation worse.
I started the Yoga as a form of stress release and relaxation, because like I said learning what is actually happening to me lessoned my symptoms, then when I had no idea what was going on and worried. I'm no where near as bad as I was almost four months ago when this all started, but I'm still nowhere near being better!! Any insight would be greatly appreciated.
Thanx.
mike
