When will the RTX studies finish?

I think RTX might help me (small hope), but it is difficult to get hands on it. The doctor said something about producing problems. Do you know anything about it?

The RTX study will stop at the end of September. There are approximately twenty test centers in the United States - you can find a list at http://www.clinicaltrials.gov. As you probably know it is theorized that RTX deaden bladder nerves causing pain and urgency to be reduced. I was thinking of enrolling in the trial because the drug has a lot of promise but unfortunately two things forced me to reconsider.

1) patients must have urgency and pain - I mostly have pain
2) The procedure seems more painful then indicated on websites such as ICN or ICA. Even though RTX is more potent than other capsaicin and causes less burning the material they sent me in the mail indicated there was a 1 in 5 chance that I would be unable to hold the drug after instillation for the duration of a half hour because of pain.

I am now reconsidering whether this is the right time for me to try RTX but if you are interested go to the website, find a testing center near you, and ask for some info.

Thanks. I've chronic frequency as the main characteristic symptom, some pain too, however. After all the experience with my disease, I've all the reasons to believe that c-fiber deadening might relieve my symptoms. RTX is unreachable here. The pain related to RTX treatment doesn't sound too good. I'm currently on Ciclosporin and give it a chance.
