I dont know if this is relevant atall to this forum. May be it was brought up on this forum before, if so I am sorry for repeating it here. I just read this information in a news paper. So I dont have a link to point to the article. The article was about reusing mineral water bottles. The article says that these bottles should be recycled and cannot be used more than 4-5 times. Goes on to say that even if you wash it and reuse it more than 6 times, 9% of these reused bottles showed the presence of faecal colliform, a bacteria, and DHEA which might damage your liver and cause cancer. (doesnt clearly say what kind of cancer).
I am a programmer, and I use these mineral water bottles to hold water (god knows how many times/weeks I use a single bottle) instead of moving my lazy butt to get something which is actually meant to hold water for long. I dont know if this practice has lead me to the current problems CPPS/CP/IC. But one thing, 5 months into this habit I started to have my urinary symptoms, and until now I am still using reused mineral water bottles. But now I threw away all my mineral water bottles.
Sorry again if this is some lame piece of unrelated info for this forum.
bacteria in plastic bottles

May be I was not clear in my post. The article was not about the contents of mineral water/distilled water. It is about the containers (plastic) which holds them.
Once the original content of the bottle is finished, the article recommends to throw/recycle the bottle instead of washing it and reusing it again and again. Those bottles are not for reuse. The article says those bottles which are resued after a few times have traces of bacteria found normally in human feaces.
Guess I am clear now. The article doesnt mention about the chemicals in the mineral water. It talks about the lousy quality of the mineral water bottles and suggestes to recycle it rather than reuse after wash.

Is this the article you are referring to?

The study is interesting, and perhaps important; but not relevant here.
Thanks for the info.
