Just started a new job in a medical records dept. One of my tasks will be collecting files for clinics. Some of these are on shelves at ground level. Fortunately none of them are large in any way. They are light paper records.
However, I’m wondering what the general consensus would be around this in terms of the ‘things that help’, ‘things that hurt’ for CPPS?
One one hand I think it could be helpful as I’ll be stretching that area a bit but I’m also concerned as I’ve seen that squats in the gym can be harmful as it stimulates the mast cells. Although obviously here I’m not doing anything weight bearing so I’m just wanting to check with yourself Webslave if you have a view on this?
Seems like a good job I’d enjoy and the people are nice so I’m hoping this won’t pose an issue for me. Thank you.
Admin comment: I wouldn't be concerned. Squats at a gym usually entail lifting considerable weights that stress the pelvic floor, whereas squatting up and down on your haunches should be easy. Balance yourself with your hand on something as you go up and down so as not to overtighten the pelvic floor, and try to stay relaxed as you do it. In a week or two your body will adapt to the unusual exercise.
Having to squat down at new job. Could this be an issue?
