Does anyone know whether CPPS affects all ethnicities? Alternatively is it mainly seen in patients of Northern European ancestry? Since there is a lot of literature coming out of China, I would suppose it is relatively common there?
Is there any supporting literature to suggest that CPPS is caused by an as-yet-to-be-identified "stealth" virus? I read that some viruses have predeliction for neural tissue (? pudendal nerve) and is this why we cultures are not that useful (bacteria grow in cultures but not viruses).

Common in Caucasians and Asiatics, and I have witnessed a number of cases in Africans. However it's prevalence in Africans is not known, and I would guess fairly low, partially due to climatic and cultural reasons (much less stress in an African lifestyle).
There is no evidence it is caused by a virus.
