I don't feel my condition while I sleep. Is this normal?

Post by CPPS Sufferer »

I have had several diagnosis with regards as to what affliction I have. IC, CPPS, and Reiters. Its probably Reiters from all likelihood of my symptoms.

My question, as stated in the subject, is that I am wondering why I do not feel any pain while sleeping and actually can sleep at night without trouble. However, the moment I wake up, or groggily wake up in the morning, it starts right back up.

I'm simply wondering because if my symptoms continue while I slept, I should think they would wake me up every hour or so at night.

A guess: brain activity. The pain has burnt a neural pathway that gets active when certain parts of the brain are aroused.
Good News! The great ProstaQ is BACK at last! You must try it.

Well, if theres one thing I've never had, its pain in the prostate/perineum area. So sitting does nothing to affect my condition. As I mentioned, I probably have IC or Reiters, but I've also been diagnosed as having CPPS. Probably becauase the symptoms overlap and are so nebulous regarding diagnosis. Though the nerve pain that affect my limbs certainly is as bad or worse than having such a pain in that area.

I'm also taking the guess that conscious brain activity fires up the nerves that cause me pain.

Very common and shows the importance and potential to mediate this condition by way of the brain rather than attacking the symptoms downstream.
