New Here -- Symptoms?

Post by OhioGolfer »

New to this site, and hope I can get some info and answers.

I'm 47, diagnosed with Fibromyalgia a few months ago. Am on Neurontin, but that has largely stopped working for my Fibro symptoms.

A few weeks ago, started to get this burning pain in the right groin -- not constant, but worse when I stand up and bend to that side, but not consistently. Since then have some on the opposite side and a feeling of pressure in the perineal area when I sit, which I do a lot at work. I had a urinalysis, which showed no obvious infection, but had a few red blood cells. Doctor is checking this out, but doesn't fee it is anything major. I had hernia surgery 18 months ago on the right side, and my MD thinks it might be scar tissue from that, but is referring me to surgeon for evaluation.

I also have a vague burning sensation at the end of the penis, and some difficulty ejaculating. The groin pain sometimes radiates up into the hip area, and I have periodic burining sensation in the thighs.

With the fibro and everything else, I am not sure what to think. Any input or advice is welcome.

Thanks!

Jeff, sounds like my case: Fibro (CFS), pain in right hip, burning etc. Unfortunately fibro/CFS and chronic prostatitis / chronic pelvic pain syndrome are often linked. Good news: I'm 97% better these days, but it took years. You may get better more quickly with the knowledge we have now. Keep reading.
Good News! The great ProstaQ is BACK at last! You must try it.

Thanks for the post -- I kinda figured that there would be somebody else here with Fibro or related disorders. Sort of a relief to know that someone else has had a similar symptom complex, although I am sure I am going to have to run the full gauntlet of tests and such. Some of the depression/anxiety that comes with the fibro kicks in when stuff like this happens --- I am certain that I have some incurable form of cancer or such.

What worked for you with this problem? How are you handling the fibro?

I will read on and see what I can learn.

Thanks again.

I share this symptom. This is one of the worst symptoms for me. It waxes and wanes but it usually around. Sometimes it is the only symptom and sometimes it comes with others. There is a direct relation to my flares. I'm trying to pay more attention to it to see if it can be an early indicater.

Some men have this and some don't.

I see the surgeon on Tuesday to see if my old hernia site has blown again. If that is negative, I am sure I am headed to the uro for a cysto as well. My doc did say that blood in the urine, at least the microscopic variety like I have, is not unusual if it is either a scar tissue thing or prostate. We shall see . . .
