Question: sharp pain at end of urination
Before CPPS and throughout my life I've had a strange occurrence that happens at times after I urinate. This happens a few times a year and I'm curious if its common, and or related to CPPS or may just be me. So after urination sometimes (not often) I will get a sharp stabbing pain in what feels like the perineum area or close to it. Like a band of ligament or nerve is being stretched. Something like a cramp only its very sharp and painful. Lasts for about 20 seconds then disappears. I've always ignored it but now of course I'm curious if its something related to my eventual CPPS symptoms or just a natural occurrence every guy has. Thanks.

Re: Question
Yes, it is related. I had exactly the same symptom. When my CPPS went away, it disappeared too.

Re: Question: sharp pain at end of urination
Webslave, since I have a lot of symptoms in my urethra and meatus being red etc... if I had some sort of infection would I have WBCs in my urine? I've had 2 docs say my urine is sterile.. I'm trying very hard not to go down the STI road. It's not easy as I feel so ashamed and guilty. I also have to go out of town for work for a week and I have debilitating anxiety over leaving familiar surroundings and not having my wife there who treats me like a golden God daily. Which I do not deserve. Too much info for one question but feels good to get off my chest as I have no one else to talk to. Thanks.

Re: Question: sharp pain at end of urination
WBCs can mean infection, or just inflammation. It's not a key indicator of anything.
You mention shame and guilt, and a wife. I presume this means you have had sexual intercourse outside marriage?
Be aware that shame, guilt and anxiety, and the associated tension in the pelvis, underlie CPPS in many men, based on case histories posted to this forum.
