What could be happening? Well, let's look at people who get muscle pains and spasms when taking anti-cholesterol drugs called "statins" (I don't take statins BTW). In approximately 5-10% of such patients, taking statins is associated with a range of muscle side effects such as muscle pain, cramping and weakness, known as statin-associated muscle symptoms (SAMS). It's thought this happens because statins block the body's production of coenzyme Q10 (CoQ10). So taking CoQ10 is recommended for treating the muscle pain that can come with statins.
So that's one clue.
Now people also produce less CoQ10 as they age, and that could be my problem, or part of my problem.
Whatever the reason, I can tell you for sure that it's helping with my shoulder and neck trigger points, which are much less apparent, and some have even disappeared completely.
Whether this will help with CPPS I have no idea, but I suggest you try it. Take 300-400mg every day, in 1 or 2 doses, for at least a week to see if it helps.
