Concerning Myrbetriq (Mirabegron)....
Early on in this journey I didn't ask for, I was given a diagnosis of OAB, along with a long list of other diagnoses. Of course I don't believe any longer that I have OAB. I know I have CPPS. But I have been taking Myrbetriq for almost 2 yrs now, and not sure of it's efficacy any longer. My number 1 complaint, is the chronic urge and burn associated with CPPS. My mind tells me the medication helps, and that I was worse off before I took it, but I'm no longer 100% convinced anymore. But I fear the idea of stop taking it, even though I know the same symptoms of OAB are present in CPPS. If I could take another medication like Myrbetriq with it's side effects off the table, I surely would. I'm just not sure if it's a waste of time and money. Just venting...
Age: 52 | Onset Age:49 (but I may have had warning signs 25 yrs earlier)| Symptoms: Pretty much all the usual suspects. Frequency, urgency, inability to always empty, burning and numbing uretheral, penile & perineum pain. Frequent urination at night.| Helped By: Internal PT. Myrbetriq helps but is by no means great. TENS to help sleep, and hand held massages of the lower back, hips and buttocks. Standing and physical labor help. Stretches and hot baths. Occasionally use gel iced pad on the perineum. Worsened By: Sitting (being sedentary), driving, sex, bowel movements, tight clothing and underwear. | Other comments: Currently trying L-Theanine

Re: Concerning Myrbetriq (Mirabegron)....
The problem for me, is that prior to taking the Myrbetriq, I was unable to function and do my job. I'm afraid to go back to that again. It was a very low point for me, and one I don't want to revisit. But then I say I doubt it's working for me, and I feel foolish for questioning which direction I should go in. So far, very little in regards to medications have helped much without creating bigger problems. I saw my PC yesterday, and he told me to try Alfuzosin. However, only after getting it filled, I discovered it had the same rare side effect as Tamsulosin, which causes chronic painful erections while I sleep. A side effect that began 30 months ago, shortly after taking Tamsulosin. A side effect that continues to plague me even though I stopped taking it long ago. The last thing I want to do, is end up in an ER being treated for an erection lasting more than 4 hrs. I can't even find a Urologist that takes this side effect seriously, considering it can cause permanent damage and other problems. Like I said, I'm just in a venting mood.
