Chronic pain after bacterial prostatitis

Post by evp »

Hi all!

I am a 30 years old male. Around 3 years ago I was diagnosed with bacterial prostatitis (chlamydia, via unprotected sex). I had it for around 3 weeks before starting the treatment. The treatment with antibiotics was successful but I was left suffering from pelvic pain, which I still have today.

A recent MRI identified a slight inflammation in my prostate. The doctor did prostate massage and urine exam to make sure there was no bacteria, and in fact none was found. He prescribed "tamsulosin hydrochloride" for 1 month, it helped with the pain but didn't solve the problem. He said that the pain is cause by the tension of muscles around my prostate, and recommended anxiety therapy.

My symptoms are:
  • I have to urinate every 2 to 3 hours;
  • 24/7 discomfort in the bladder / prostate region, like some sort of pressure. I would say a central point between my penis and my belly button;
  • Weak urinary stream, and ejaculation;
  • I have some sensitivity under my penis;
  • It takes some 2 or 3 seconds for me to start peeing, I have to relax my belly;
What I've noticed is:
  • Running / doing exercises helps (sometimes a lot) but for only one day or two, if I stop the symptoms go back to normal;
  • Getting rid of stress helps;
I've managed to reduce the discomfort changing my lifestyle (no alcohol, good sleep, active life, exercises, avoiding stress), but I am afraid that I was left with sequels (it might have damaged my urethra?), the does not go away.

Is it possible that the book Headache of the Pelvis can help me? What should I do? My case is different, because I had a bacterial infection, and the book does seem to treat this cases. Am I wrong?

Yes, the book could help you. Get it. Many cases follow infection. The infection sets up a 'guarding' reaction, and the discomfort sets off the nerves in the region, in other words it acts as a trigger.
Good News! The great ProstaQ is BACK at last! You must try it.
