It has been a long long time since I posted on this forum. The main cause of my success is very different from the Wise Anderson protocol, but I thought I had to share it just in case there was anyone on this forum it may help. I know how horrible this can be and if I can help just one person it will be worth it.I started to get CPPS symptoms back in 2006 and they kicked in heavily very quickly.
In 2007 I got the "A Headache in the Pelvis" book and some of the stretches seemed to help with some of the symptoms. I even tried prostate massage which gave me some temporary relief. During this time all of the antibiotics I was given cause my Ulcerative Colitis to turn into toxic megacolon and I nearly died, and consequently now have a permanent ileostomy (a surgical operation in which a piece of the colon is diverted to an artificial opening in the abdominal wall). But fortunately I am able to live a very normal life still. After all of this, and due to nerve pain suffered as a result of my ileostomy operation I started taking amitriptyline (Elavil) which I thought had got rid of all my CPPS problems, only for them to return within 2 years, but not as severe. I was able to get to work (with a long commute) fairly easily and I even got married, but CPPS was still there and it kept rearing it's ugly head. Interestingly I also took biotin at this time for some hair loss after my major operation and this seemed (oddly) to ease my CPPS symptoms a little. Not quite sure if that was in my head or real to be honest.
Something else I had suffered for all my life is mild phimosis (tight foreskin) and because of this I always urinated with my foreskin on. In 2006 before the onset of all my symptoms I remember being fairly fed up with my weak bladder so decided I was going to train it.
I feel like a fool for not realising what might be happening, but a couple of years ago it struck me...what if all that bladder training in 2006 combined with my phimosis had created a huge backflow of my urine in my urethra and my this had inflamed my prostate? During the really bad times, my urologist always said my prostate was "boggy". So I thought, what do I have to lose here? I started gently stretching exercises with the foreskin and within 1-2 months I was able to urinate with it slightly open and within 1-2 days ALL of my symptoms were gone. I realised after stretching it fully back that it got tight again and I needed to do some more stretching if I was to retract it fully. But after more stretching that was possible and all of my CPPS was gone.
I hope this helps at least one person here. The difference in my health is quite noticeable. Even though the last 10 years has meant I have an ileostomy, I now fully hydrate myself (although I need to drink more water and salts as my ileostomy means I have much less intestine to absorb them) without fear of needing the toilet so regularly and my skin/hair/mood is much improved.
I wish everyone here the best and hope whatever is causing your CPPS you can get through it. I received a lot of great advice when I first joined this forum 10 years ago.
Take care guys!
