After 16 years of Pelvic pain ....

Post by Tetro »

....and a horrible slow improvement, something new comes along, fasciculations, hemorrhoids?

Hi, I'm not going to go into my life story of CPPS at the moment, I'm too exhausted and I just can't type that much at the moment, I will say I had all the standard CPPS issues, and was even diagnosed in 2004-2005, pelvic pain, pain on my bladder filling up, pain on my rectum filling when I need to defecate, pain in my groin, penis, etc, extreme pain when aroused, extra pain after orgasm, etc. Over the years at least the pain when my bladder fills and pain when my rectum fills has almost vanished, and my groin and penis isn't in constant pain as long as I do my stretches. But several months ago something new happened so let me cut to the chase.

For the past 3 years I had been recovering from a severe tendon rupture in my dominant wrist, and without any health insurance I got somewhat minimal care, so for a long time I was homemade for a lot of the time and didn't do any of the things I used to do, (I was a inventor, builder, handyman, gamer, computer tech), obviously depression set in, but whatever. Finally last year I started getting pain free function in my wrist and was slowly building strength back up in my wrist.

One of the things I did after deciding to get my life back on track was to begin cleaning, so one day, I was squatting a lot around my room and the house trying to clean things up, move things around (I have a lot of gadgets and boxes of tools and parts around the floor and walls), I squatted for much longer than I had anytime after I injured my wrist, before my wrist I was always moving and squatting and lifting, etc.

Well, after that night I noticed when I would stand or walk around, I would get this weird sensation like there was a soft bubble right in my anus, it was just a painless annoying sensation if I was only standing for short periods, but if I was on my feet for a few hours, the sensation would start becoming sore and painful. I looked down there with a mirror and bright light to check as I've had rrhoids before with similar sensations, I had a couple of bulges, but they were normal skin color and not red, also, I wouldn't have any pain when sitting which is a usual symptom of rhoids, and laying down would make the sensation go away entirely. I'm registered at a free clinic running a skeleton crew, but with the health of certain family members I haven't gone to see them, they probably don't even have anyone to help. But I need to go, cause one night after being on my feet for several hours I came home and looked down at my anal region and noticed a small shiny red bulge starting to stick out of my anus. But this isn't the weirdest thing yet, now, when I'm standing even if I just get up after laying or sitting down, I'll get weird painless muscle twitching, skin crawling worm sensations under random areas of my buttocks, one time it actually felt like the top half of both my gluteus maximus muscles literally sloughed from the bones painlessly under the skin. This must be some form of muscle ripples.

Now I'm even more worried cause all that squatting with my horrible lumbar posture and old bulged disk around L5 makes me think I have some sort of nerve damage right below there. Please note none of these weird skin crawling sensations go past the very front of my anus, it's within a centimeter of the front of it, and will extend all the way to the top of my butt, but no further, for some reason the entire weird situation is happening right in my rump, not even in my pelvic floor in front of my anus or penis. I'm going to be trying to see a doctor soon for this cause it's driving me up the wall, I've never had these sensations before. I fear standing now cause of these sensations, laying down and sitting and they disappear, but getting up or standing or kneeling and it's a roll of the dice whether these weird bubble, skin crawling sensations will appear, has anyone else had this issue? I had hoped after over a decade of pelvic pain starting to subside and getting the use of my hand and wrist back, it might finally be some light and now I have to deal with this. :(

At a guess, I'd say the squatting stretched some overtight pelvic muscles and that has resulted in some fasciculations, which is a good sign.

Hi Webslave, thanks for responding, but the issue is, I do very intense squatting daily for years for my pelvic pain and the tightness in my lower back so and NEVER had these sensations before, it doesn't make sense, I would say maybe the prolonged squatting might have slipped some more discs out of place, and this has been happening every day for months since the first day of a 3 year hiatus of trying to get more active, even tho I did my stretching routine without fail daily even when my wrist was busted, I'm beginning to wonder if this has something to do with some sort of hemorrhoid issue or perhaps a internal prolapse, I had a actual rectal prolapse when I was 5 so something like this might not be out of the question, especially sense squatting for prolonged periods puts much more pressure on the rectum and shifts things around, the problem is the fasciculations, bubble sensations, etc are NOT getting any better, if anything they're getting worse, the sensation of, my buttocks just sloughing off was very recent and nowhere near the beginning of this. Also, why it localized to the very front of my anus to the top of my buttocks? There's nothing new happening in the groin or genital region. Would be a lot easier if I had any sort of decent income or health insurance, I'm sure I'm just going to get swept aside at the volunteer clinic but I'll have to try. On another note, why it this only happening with I'm upright and my back isn't supported, it only happens when I stand or kneel, nothing but once or twice when I'm sitting or laying down do I get these sensations. Anyone else with fasciculations having this same issue?
This whole thing is really screwing with my psychologically, all the years of pelvic pain I was able to compartmentalize a lot of the regret and depression by working, moving and building things when I lost the use of my hand it was severe blow, and now my hand is healing this shows up and makes me avoid standing, I can't catch a break. :boom:

If it's hemorrhoids, it's not serious, so don't worry about that.

If it's discs, then try my technique of icing the lower spine

I just wanted to give a mini update cause I'm a bit aggravated, to detail how this weird rectal sensation works, I was sitting here in a horribly slouched position with my lumbar curved the wrong way and my feet on the seat of edge of my computer chair so I was kinda in a knees to chest position, no odd sensations in my pelvic or rectal regions, I get up to walk to the kitchen I have the sensation that there's something kinda hanging between my buttocks right outside my anus, I come back to sit and it goes away almost immediately, also laying down makes the symptoms go away, I just don't understand what's happening, gonna need to see that doc so they can at least put a camera up my butt I guess.

Sitting like that does put pressure on the lower spine and nerves. Sitting posture is very important

No see, when I'm "sitting like that" I DON'T have any symptoms, it's when I'm standing up walking that they show up, sometimes almost immediately on standing, So the opposite of what you would think should be happening is occuring. Aside from laying down causing most of the fullness and odd sensations to dissappear, which would make sense biomechanically.

I have fairly similar rectal symptoms on standing (and especially on running), but only after a while. You just might have a more acute case of my issue, which is trigger points in the pubococcygeus.

Tetro, bad sitting posture puts pressure on nerve roots, but symptoms will only appear when you stand and start moving.

What really? Hmm, I never heard of that order of cause and effect with nerves, usually when whatever is pushing on the nerves is no longer pushing on it the nerves, the symptoms go away, and when the nerve is being pushed on the symptoms appear, like the bulged disc that causes my rare sciatic pain. But there's still a conodrum, if I'm laying down with pressure off my back I get no symptoms 99%, but if I stand up and start moving they'll almost always appear in some way, laying down in a well supported position definitely wouldn't be putting pressure on the nerve roots, and I've tried laying on hard and soft surfaces they they all usually relieve the symptoms, so apparently something really odd is happening, maybe it's not nerve related but muscular-skeletal related.
I wonder if my pelvic bones are slightly lose and misaligned, back in 2004 my physical therapist said they were, but that was the wild west of CPPS and pelvic floor dysfunction so I don't know if she diagnosed me properly or not, I definitely had pelvic floor dysfunction and tons of trigger points by that time.

I've had severe problems with back nerves for a long time, and I know what I'm talking about.

I'll give you another example: if you have ever sat with your leg suspended by the heel on a coffee table, for instance, and then got up, you may find a lot of pain in your knee, but only after you get up.

Another example: you may lift something heavy off the floor without keeping your spine straight, the way you are supposed to, and only the next day do you feel a twinge of pain there. You may have to think back to remember what caused it.

Nerve pain is not always immediate. Post ejaculation pain is another example, coming up to a day after ejaculation.
usually when whatever is pushing on the nerves is no longer pushing on it the nerves, the symptoms go away, and when the nerve is being pushed on the symptoms appear, like the bulged disc that causes my rare sciatic pain.
That's not the way nerves work. The cause and effect interplay in nerves is often, even usually, delayed.
laying down in a well supported position definitely wouldn't be putting pressure on the nerve roots
Wrong again, I'm afraid. I would be painless lying down, but always had back pain after getting up. It got to the point that I feared lying in certain positions that I knew would flare the pain later. I had to find specific sort of mattress and lie down in a specific way to avoid pain on arising.
I wonder if my pelvic bones are slightly lose and misaligned
Have you had a MRI? CT scan? I recommend a spinal investigation...

I haven't had a MRI or catscan of the area in about 10 years, not sure If I'll be able to get one with no insurance.

Webslave, I've been a bit sleep deprived when I made these posts, but I realized something, if damage is being done like you say while i'm sitting or laying down, and it shows up when I stand up, why does it almost always immediately go away when sitting or lying back down, without fail, doesn't matter if I stood up for only a couple minutes or 30, laying or sitting down almost immediately stops any of these new sensations and twitching I've been having in my buttocks. I know quite a bit about nerves and anatomy as well and damaged nerves aren't just going to stop sending odd signals immediately, once any pressure is taken away, if anything it points to me standing unsupported upright that's causing a issue with my nerves, if it is nerves, and not sitting down. But then again this is all speculation until I can get tests run. Also, I forgot to add, the fullness, twitching and other sensations actually get worse the longer I stand unti I stop, if I just lay around all day or just sit around, the symptoms pretty much stay gone.

When you stand up, the nerve roots emerging from the spinal column are under stress from mass redistribution. Gravity. When you lie down, these stresses are eliminated. But while lying down on particular surfaces or in a particular position, the nerves roots can be under some mild compression that only becomes symptomatic on standing, OR, in some positions, the herniated disc in the spine (if you have one) releases irritating chemicals that affect the nerve roots. If you check all this via Google you'll see it's not merely my opinion.

Thanks for the information webslave, hopefully I can get some medical care once my other family member's severe health issues have stabilized, everything is chaos over here and I'm having severe difficulty juggling all of it.
