Discomfort in upper back while relaxing pelvic floor?
I've noticed that I get an uncomfortable "stretching" feeling in my upper back/ribcage when (1) I just ate a meal, and (2) I'm standing up, and (3) I relax my pelvic floor. Trying to make sense of why this happens. Has anyone else gotten something like this?
Started: Spring 2003; high urinary frequency and pain associated with bladder filling; urinary hesitancy; pubic/prostate/perineal discomfort; Helped by: trigger point therapy, Afrin nasal spray, Cymbalta, hydrocodone (small doses), distraction. Makes worse: sex.

Are you stretching all your body or just the pelvis?
I felt you can't sensibly stretch just the pelvis. Everything is connected up in trains. I find it best just to do a whole body stretch daily and then as I am loose I can fill in with just pelvic stretches as needed as an extra. I just feel other areas do get pulled along so may as well make sure everything is nice and stretched all over so as to reduce the risk to hurting other areas. Could simply be another muscle is playing up.
I have learned to warm up first with a walk to reduce pulls in other muscles which I did get as a newbie to Wise-Anderson Protocol. It is in the Wise-Anderson Protocol book but I am sure a lot of people skip and go direct to stretching. I use a my own treadmill as I live in Scotland. Yeah right I am walking here in the winter rain. I do not like too much cold (or excessive heat actually) near my pelvis tightens it up - so a treadmill gets around that weather element. Wish I had bought one years ago - such a simple thing a 30-60 min brisk walk a day and it does wonders for my control.
