I am not a doctor but this idea comes from just thinking logically and paying attention to my body:
I have tinnitus (ringing in the ear), AND hyperacusis (over-sensitivity to certain frequency ranges of sound....a collapsed tolerance to normal environmental sound), both in my right ear (the left has it slightly). I believe that this has contributed to my CPPS. Think of it this way: the body's natural reaction to loud/sudden noise is to tense up as a guard against some kind of danger. It is evolutionary. Now imagine that your ears are CONSTANTLY sending that kind of signal to your brain/body (because you have the conditions that I have). Yep.....you will be constantly tense. I believe that I have been manifesting this by clenching my jaw, raising my shoulders, and clenching my pelvis. This is one of the things I have to fight against as well.
Again, this is just a theory but it makes a lot of sense if you think about it. Just thought I would share.

Re: hyperacusis and CPPS connection
Many antibiotics are ototoxic to some extent, and tinnitus is a symptom of that. Unfortunately we as a group are some of the most antibiotic-overdosed patients on Earth.
Good News! The great ProstaQ is BACK at last! You must try it.

Re: hyperacusis and CPPS connection
Good to know. Unfortunately my tinnitus and hyperacusis had nothing to do with the antibiotics as they started 6 years ago due to an injury, and my chronic prostatitis / chronic pelvic pain syndrome started 2 years ago, at which time I went the antibiotic route due to my (and my urologists) lack of knowledge on the issue.

There will be many ways someone can get to guarding the pelvis but same end result. Very possible this is yours. Mine is just plain old stress.
Did you injure your jaw/neck/shoulders and get Tinnitus? You probably know some people with Tinnitus have found TP's/muscles as the cause I guess. Very like CPPS.
