I'm so thankful for this forum after a serious flare up last year I've been symptom free for nearly 11 months now thanks to physical therapy.
I just got my first girlfriend ever and had unprotected anal sex with her for the first time and immediately after I felt like I thought I might have a UTI and chronic prostatitis / chronic pelvic pain syndrome prostatitis symptoms. I took lots of D-mannose and have no UTI, but symptoms still persist 10 days after.
I definitely don't want to ever take ABX again but I can't help being paranoid that somehow bacteria from anal sex was involved in this flare-up and that now I may have bacterial prostatitis because every doctor is quick to tell me this and prescribe Cipro. Is it possible a mild UTI could cause a flare up?
I'm really not interested in seeing all these docs again or getting tests or treatment for "bacterial prostatitis" Is there a chance that this will resolve on it's own or by doing the same physical therapy that worked for me before?
