Sharp pain during bowel movement

Post by GS »

last week I had a bowel movement and felt a sharp pain, almost like I pulled a muscle in my pelvis. The soreness and burning in my penis has been more prominent and constant since. I have been taking hot baths and ibuprofen more regularly since then, but the symptoms persist. I am also on ditropan-xl, Quercetin and started prostaprotek 1 week ago. The association with pain and muscle straining makes me wonder more about Dr. Wise's theory, so I have started doing the stretches in his book. I have also e-mailed him for more information on his seminar in New York in August, but I haven't heard back from him yet. Has anyone else experienced anything similar and what has helped to resolve it?
Age: 39 | Onset Age: 32 | Symptoms: urethral burning, increased urge to urinate, pain after sex, rectal fullness, now much better 6 years into Stanford/Wise-Anderson Protocol | Helped By: PT(trigger point therapy), paradoxical relaxation, valium, hot bath, stretching, Theracane | Worsened By:too vigorous sex, skipping stretches and daily relaxation

It's strange, but I get a sharp pain in that area when I sneeze violently. Go figure! :pensativo:

It must be muscular. Nobody else I know gets these sharp pelvic pains when straining or sneezing. I think it may be a special delight reserved for us.
Good News! The great ProstaQ is BACK at last! You must try it.

Dear GS and webslave,

you definitely not alone. I suffer pelvic pain and after BM immediatelly pain in the urhetra increases + testicles pain and pelvic pain.

Please see the posts: PAIN INCREASE AFTER DEFECATION in this section.

Baclofen + Valium help to cope with pain, but do not fix the issue.

pls let me know if you find stg better.

It may only be putting a band-aid on the problem, but if your stools are hard, have you tried a softener like Docusate Sodium/Colace?
