Hi All,
Please can you comment on the warnings I found on various sites in Bulgaria related to Chronic Prostatitis/CPPS. They claim:
"Chronic prostatitis/CPPS - If left untreated it causes sexual weakness, difficulties urinating and pain in the sexual system and chest"
"Up to the present moment chronic prostatitis remains an unsolved problem. Often, its underestimation and single-patterned treatment lead to serious psychical and sexual reflections."
Does it mean that inevitably we're going to have sexual problems, is that what they're telling us? It feels like doomed to have sexual problems.....
I've been having some of the symptoms (urgency, frequency, nocturia, discomfort in perineum) for the past 7 years and nothing has changed with my sexual activity. I believe this is a marketing trick to attract more patients without supportive evidence. I tried many remedies, and nothing has helped but I'm able to live a normal live with my symptoms.
What is your opinion?

Re: CPPS Warning
My chronic prostatitis / chronic pelvic pain syndrome is drastically affecting my sexual performance and enjoyment, mostly because my pain is mostly penile.
I imagine once it's cured (it will be, right.... ?) I'll go back to normal...

Moral of the story: stay away from 99% of sites that discuss "prostatitis" and "chronic prostatitis". The amount of utter crap on the interwebs is astounding.
Good News! The great ProstaQ is BACK at last! You must try it.

Re: CPPS Warning
Actually for me this condition has pretty much destroyed my sex life. I've also had hormonal issues which have contributed. I am by no means saying that the site is reliable, just that for me anyways this condition is very much responsible for my horrible libido and weakened sexual state at the present.

Just to let you guys know. You will go through lots of different symptoms in your path to recovery. I strongly feel that this condition is complicated by sexual behavior. Sucks but it's been very true in my case. I've run the gamut from dysfunction to massive improvement in this area. It's just a big part of the condition that most men are not comfortable talking about. Get used to it roll with it. You have to accept it as part of the path to getting better. I can say overall it gets much, much better. I still go through some not so great phases, but overall it's way better then it was a year and a half ago. Once you get your muscles worked out and retrained you'll see some huge improvements, but you'll flare yourself up a ton in the process. I also had to go in up to 7-10 inches to really hit the muscles causing the issues. Sorry but your physical therapist is not going to be able to work these muscles for you. You're going to have to use a wand and slowly work it all out. It took multiple years on my end. ;)

Re: CPPS Warning
I used to have very bad post orgasm pain - which did tend to put me off sex/masturbation - but now I don't have any urinary or post orgasm symptoms - sex life is great.

Re: CPPS Warning
What wand would you recommend? I had a good therapy session yesterday and felt remarkably better after my PT did the internal work..However today it has flared up something fierce. Is this a common pattern? Also I noticed a great reduction in brain fog after the appointment yesterday. God this desease is so strange.neue01 wrote:Just to let you guys know. Isn't this trigger point self therapy dangerous - it could bring bacteria and other infections possibly?

I've thought of that too. I ordered the wand on webslaves amazon store for chronic prostatitis / chronic pelvic pain syndrome and the only thing I can think of about that is that when you wash the wand, put a little bleach in the water and clean it well with a paper towel. Bleach kills all microorganisms across the board If I am correct. It'll kill HIV, any bacteria that isn't in the hardened form of an endospore, or whatever the hell else you could worry about. Its also good for staph infections on the skin if you want to bath in a diluted bleach bath. As far as introducing bacteria into your rectum? yea i'm sure that's a risk, just wash your hands and practice a form of sterile technique with the wand. Don't leave it on any surfaces or let anything touch it except your rectum area before you use it. Just my two bits.
Age:19 | Onset Age:19. July 7th, 2011. | Symptoms: burning testicular pain, burning perineal pain, poor range of motion in right hip flexor, post ejaculatory pain (usually), decreased libido, depression | Helped By: narcotic pain killers, stretching (not sure) | Worsened By: alcoholic beverages, mostly unsure what effects my symptoms for better or worse.

Re: CPPS Warning
Washing the wand with soap and water is adequate. You are extremely unlikely to introduce harmful bacteria into the rectum, which has a rich bacterial population of its own. Do not use harsh chemicals like bleach, which pose more of a danger to your health than bacteria (exposure to chlorine is cited by some patients as a trigger for their pelvic pain syndrome).
BTW, HIV does not exist outside the body and cannot be inserted into the body with a wand.
