Hey all,
My therapist gave me what she called a medical device--it looks like a sex toy, but it seems to work! It's a flexible rectal-insert vibrating massager. I've been doing levator ani massages with it and it actually has produced instant, marked improvement when I have a nasty flare in penis-shaft soreness.
I can still feel that I have extremely painful trigger points in my LA, and I'm working them daily or every other day with the wand. I anticipate some real permanent improvement will eventually come of this.
Anyway, I just put a 20-minute TV show on Hulu and go to work; it's over before I know it, and I barely notice the pain, however intense it may get.
Only question: What are these devices called? I'm interested in learning more about them. Mine is beige, has a 4-inch rounded-off cylinder at the head, then a thin, flexible shaft, and finally a battery case (C batteries.) If anyone knows what these are, please let me know!!

I encourage anxiety prone UCPPS people to consider L-Theanine
Age, 44 onset age 37 Feb 2006 Freq. need to urinate. Sensation of having to urinate soon after going. Perineum discomfort/burning/tightness, pubic area discomfort @ times, poor urine stream, post urine dripping/spray. All symptoms have improved with my protocol. At the worst I give it a 1 to 2 on irritation and discomfort and frequency. Helps: Elavil 5mg for anxiety and mast cell protection, (will only take it as needed) self internal PT as needed, stretching, walking, stairmaster cardio workout and light weights, reducing stress, moment to moment relaxation, deep breathing relaxation and using a Theracane. Makes worse: sitting for long periods, stress, over focusing on it. Currently 95%-98% recovered. Stay positive, relaxed and control your anxiety.
