Hi,

I'm a 36 years old man from Germany and in the moment searching for the right way to treat this horrid sickness.

Everything started after I had (drunk) a sexual contact with a prostitute on the Philippines in September 2007.

I got a tickling sensation inside the penis already the next day. The girl I never met again, but heard from a friend of her that she had a STD a while ago but should have been ok again meanwhile.

Well, the tickling sensation continued, I don't remember everything but in the end in November 2007 I got much pains at urinating and pains on the perineum and more and ended up at the doctor. He gave me antibiotics for 2 weeks. After that I felt more or less ok again but not fully. The doctor asked me (!) if we should continue the treatment as it could be better to avoid chronic. How should I know this time what means this chronic? In the end we stopped at this point the treatment of antibiotics.

The following years I felt some pains in the perineum area only sometimes. And slightly. Except after one stay in Canada in the winter where I got an attack but which disappeared by itself after a few weeks. Also once half a year ago after one sexual intercourse I got another attack which also disappeared again more or less.

Mainly still the pains were not too much. But I would say the last year it started with less and less sexual longings, SDF, pain in the penis and I thought now things start to get worse.

So, before I visited to Sweden to work there for a while in May, I have been already to the doc for some medicaments. I got some homeopathics. In Sweden then I did a visit barefooted to the cold sea. This is something I should not have done! One day later I got a complete break out with many symptoms including heavy pains and muscle cramps around perineum and legs.

The worst symptoms disappeared after a few days but when I arrived back home I visited two different urologists and once one of them pressed my prostate things got very bad again for a couple of days, including hours of crying only due to panic if feeling a ball between the legs, heavy pains, unusual things happening at urinating. Once I had to visit the doc because I could not breath right any more, I got an injection for my psyche which helped. Serious thoughts about suicide came up.

There was no bacteria found, neither in urine nor in sperm. Also leukocytes not too high. Also blood ok.

Still its very hard for me to recover, but I feel much better than before.
I started treatment with an alternative healer which helped me a lot, but I still have a constant discomfort, sometimes more and much more often less.

I still have a higher frequency of urinating (but got better, last night I slept without waking up for 8 hours, the problem of urinating I had never before and started only in May 2011). I get seldom pains in testicles, perineum, penis.
If sitting for a longer time on a hard place I get the organ swollen (golfball) and bad symptoms like much discomfort in pelvis, numbness in buttocks, pains along the leg, sharp pain on perineum and so on. But this only if sitting too long on a hard surface, as long as I avoid this my symptoms are much better.
My libido is low, erections seldom and sometimes weak.

I stopped smoking now 5 weeks ago (was smoking 25 cigarettes a day).

Also 4 weeks ago I started the Broccoli - Treatment, I am in the middle of the 3rd circle now which means in 3 days I will have it finished. Means also I didn't take any coffee or alcohol or "hot food" now since 4 weeks.

The treatment of my alternative healer:
- Infusions with Vitamin C, magnesium and others which I can't name
- I get my blood washed (treated with air and uv-light)
- Magnotherapy
- Autohaemotherapy (injections)
- Chelation therapy

Medicines, daily:
- Saw Palmetto (640g)
- Cranberry
- Zinc (50g)
- Vitamin C
- Powerpills
- Omega3 fatty acids
- Regenaplex in a special arrangement for permanent treatment the whole day http://www.regenaplex.de

What helped me a lot with my psyche is that I have been to the confession the first time since 25 years. It really helps me a lot and I recommend it if there is still a spark of believe in god.

I got in contact already with this clinics in China, New York, Rome and Moscow for antibiotic injections into prostate and/or prostate massage. I need to say everybody was very friendly and I got quick answers. But meanwhile I decided to not do such a treatment as long as I can see other ways.

Also I am in contact with the Prof. from Odessa / Ukraine. They would do a complete diagnostic of bacterias (which takes one week) and the goal is to find then medicaments which help in case of heavy attacks, flares.

I will probably start a sensomotoric therapy soon. I think about to start with the Wise-Anderson Protocol.

I got now information that probably my application for treatment in a TCM - clinic in Bavaria will be accepted and so paid by my health insurance.

I will also visit my girlfriend in Indonesia in 2 weeks. Even I scare the flight. I need it for my psyche.

Still I have many doubts if this can be only caused by muscles, as I had one sexual contact which initiated everything. So I try to go the way in two directions, against bacteria and treatment for muscles. I'm still searching. I scare if after Broccoli cure I eat something wrong or drink coffee or so on the problems will increase again. Also I am not sure which medicine or treatment helps the most in the moment and what will happen if I reduce.

Thanks so much for this forum. I will keep you updated.

Ahoii, welcome.

The infection set up a psychoneuromuscular condition in your pelvis that the winter conditions in Canada and Sweden exacerbated. Cold weather does make the condition worse; there are studies showing that.

Homeopathics - useless.

You are also clearly a very anxious person, and this tends to make the condition more difficult to treat. Just be aware of that and take precautions against panic and catastrophising.

Your supplements and alternative treatments are not going to be much help, in my experience, and the Cranberry can actually make it worse.

Keep away from antibiotics and the Odessa, Roman and Chinese doctors - that way lies disaster. Read on this site what can happen to you there.

Since religion has been helpful for you (i.e. psychological aspects), your first visit should be to the Wise Anderson clinic. You are an excellent prospective patient.

(Note: grundle = perineum. Nobody uses the word "grundle" so I altered it in your post.)
Good News! The great ProstaQ is BACK at last! You must try it.

Hy Webslave!

Thanks a lot for your quick answer. Yes, I was reading here already some and it seems there is not too much success with antibiotic injections and so on. Meanwhile, also much due to your forum, I will prefer any treatment else instead of direct injections to prostate which I also can imagine to make permanent damages. The stories about Hepatitis... very scary! I feel so sorry for the ppl looking for help by pay much money and instead getting even more problems.

What I avoid since the beginning of the worst time in May, is taking oral antibiotics as I have not read about any successful story in that treatment of CPPS. Don't wanna put even more problems on my body.

In the moment it seems like I will get a stay at a German TCM clinic paid by my health insurance. TCM = Traditional Chinese Medicine. I mean, this will be no antibiotics, just herbals, acupuncture, relax, about food and so on. I am not very sure how they treat. There is also a combination with western medicine, if needed. I think I can not make too much wrong to start with that now first.

Seriously I think already about a visit to the Wise Anderson clinic after. Just not, if I get healthy by TCM ;)

Already I ordered some books today:

Headache in the Pelvis &
Der Chronische Beckenbodenschmerz, chronic prostatitis / chronic pelvic pain syndrome (-> This book is written by a popular doc of a clinic in Germany; as far as I know they started in his clinic with treatment against chronic prostatitis / chronic pelvic pain syndrome and do this partly according to the Wise-Anderson Protocol!)

Thanks so much for your forum, best luck to everybody!! We will get well, soon!!

Hi Konrad,

I understand that the Wise-Anderson home treatment kit which includes the internal trigger point wand + lectures and instructions for using it and doing relaxation should soon be available here in Europe. I understand it should be about €250.00 I am in the UK and am hoping to get one once I track down the distributor. I'll let you know when I find out, if you want? Pete
Age: 37 | Onset Age: 37 | Symptoms: Started with what seemed to be a lower UTI with discharge, with severe pain in the head of my penis. Severe penile glans pain (made me cry!) continued, with urethra pain and burning (entire length of my urethra right into my body), bladder pain, burning and sensitive skin above my pubic area, burning seems to travel my legs, and sometimes found in my feet. Pins and needles feeling in my penis and testicles, feet and legs, burning in my groin and penis and testicles. One occasion of numb genitals. Helped by: time and patience, and amytriptyline. Tried antibiotics, prednisolone + ProstaQ, zinc, Vit C, fish oil, flaxseed, garlic tabs, l-carnitine, cranberry, and broccoli protocol. Worsened by: worry.

Konrad hi

I also live outside the US, and the decision to go to the Wise-Anderson clinic was not an easy one to make (long flight, costs, lost days at work) but I recently decided to go.

I will start the clinic this week (july 14-19) and will update the forum on the process.

What helped me to make that decision was:

(a) Reading the book Headache in the Pelvis. As soon as I read it I understood it closely relates to what I am experiencing. It also gave me hope, which I could not find before.

(b) Having my life pretty much disrupted during the last 6 months (partial work, having to stop most exercise, almost no social life because this is not a subject to talk about freely ..., pains, bad sleep, endless visits to doctors, constant anxiety, panic attacks, and being depressed....) and seeing that nothing helps.

I tried antibiotics, NSAIDS, TCM, supplements, Homeopathy, Physiotherapy by someone who is good but not familiar with the subject. None help. Some even had negative effects.

The most useful things I found were relaxation and walking but they only reduced the symptoms, never allowed me to live a normal work and family life. Alpha blockers seem to help a little (penis pain, urination flow) but lots of negative side effects.

PS: You have to be very careful - since chronic prostatitis / chronic pelvic pain syndrome by its name is a Chronic syndrome, which can be quite distressful, it attracts of lot of unethical people who sell dreams on the Internet, and even worse - of doctors with good intentions but ready to take "heroic" steps on your body.

(c) Making many tests to rule out other scenarios - which are unlikely but worth testing, if only to be reassured, or have a solid ground for making decisions.

- Infection: Tested for a wide range of bacteria in blood, urine culture, semen culture.
- Cancer: PSA, Urinary Tract Ultrasound, Trans-Rectal Ultrasound (TRUS), DRE (Digital Rectal Exam), and Cytology.

There are more you can do (Cystoscopy, CT, MRI) but at some time you have to stop. It seems you have done a few as well. You need a doctor that knows when to stop. I was LUCKY to find an honest doctor who told me something like "I have tested everything which can be tested, and I can do nothing for you. Antibiotics did not help. Surgery is for the cases of enlarged prostate, which is not the case for you".

(d) Reading the testimonies in this site (thanks Webslave for keeping this site running).

(e) Talking on the phone to Dr Wise - When I talked to him, he confirmed that my symptoms are "typical" of non-bacterial CPPS, and I finalized my decision to go.

In the last 6 months I had costs (medical conventional and non-conventional, including lost days at work) of above 5,000-6000 $, about the same costs as taking the Wise-Anderson Clinic :) if you include flights. I guessed I was hoping also this would go away on its own...

Hope this will help you make your decision about this.

Good luck anyway.

George

Hi!

Long time for an answer, sorry.

George, I read in another posting that you have success with the WA - Protocol. That's really nice to hear, my all best wishes to you! Thanks for your detailed answer to my posting!! I also bought the book "A headache in the pelvis" meanwhile, but its really hard for me as I am German....probably I will come to the clinic also one day.

I am in the moment also in better conditions. I've been to Indonesia, visiting my girlfriend, and visited a "faith healer" there. Was very impressive as he is 83 years old and look as 40, a man really full of energy. He said this is all only muscular and I have to relax! And he made some massage of my legs and back. After this I always felt strong. At least he was helpful for my soul!

Well, I still take the medicaments written above, I reduced the Cranberry and take it seldom (thanks Webslave!). I stopped to catastrophize, I found many arguments why it is not needed (if somebody wants to hear them I will tell :) )
I'm jogging every second day (helps always to be outside the house and do slight sports).
Also I started to use Orgawell, which is a method of gymnastics for the muscles in the pelvis (15 minutes every second day). I think it really helps as I don't feel numb any more on my buns and what is so good for my soul: The morning erections are back. Pain in general is not a big topic. Due to this success of gymnastics I feel even more sure to start the WA - Protocol later.

My main problems are in the moment that I have to go to pee more often than before this year May.... I would say around 3 times more than usual. And I often feel I have to do defecation, but it's not true. Well, the biggest problem is the sitting, this bad feelings in the pelvis they trigger. In the morning I feel general good but added over the day the problems increase. And sitting is definitely the main trigger.

Well, I will go to the German TCM clinic now; my health insurance pays for it. I go there on August 16th and will stay for 3 - 4 weeks. I will let you know how things are going there.

Just I want to say thank you so much for this forum. I think it supported me a lot to make not a big mistake like antibiotic injections and so on. Thank you for running this forum and thank you all people sharing your experiences here.

One more thing I want to mention. I don't remember where but I read of people very lonely, nobody to share and so on. If somebody wants to talk just leave me a message and we can talk per mail or phone or whatever. It helps much to share.

Ciao

Hi Pete, do you have an update on your purchase of the wand?
Age: 27 | Onset Age: 26 | Symptoms: Pelvic pain (began w/ introduction into bladder/prostate of highly resistant strain of bacteria that was acquired via a Botox injection intended to treat levator ani syndrome) | Helped By: Paxil for anxiety, Trigger point release and trigger point injections, stretches, hot baths, Prosta-Q | Worsened By: Stress/anxiety, Sitting down for long periods,
