I have been going through the pt for a few weeks now. My pt is a pelvic specialist, but I dont think she has a lot of experience working with men. She has a good heart and you can tell really wants to help. That being said, the only concentration has been on the rectal area, and from what I understand the abdominals can contribute to the condition as well?
Secondly, I am markedly worse the next day after e-stim treatment....At first couldnt even tolerate it and would literally jump....Now I can tolerate it, but on the two days that it has been used I have been just miserable the next day...Is this to be expected or is e-stim not a good methodology for our condition?

Therapy insight (e-stim)
Age:38 | Onset Age:37 | Symptoms: Pain primarily in right testicle, greatly worsened after urination although recently whole scrotum feels inflamed again..no urinary issues..this is my third and longest bout in last 8 years...Never have burning in urethra after urination but scrotum and rectum will feel inflamed afterwards.
Helped by: Warmth, walking, valium some, hydrocodone sometimes helps
Worsened by: Sitting, pain day after sex, bowel movements, sugary foods, seemingly ibuprofen and advil?...supplements like vitamin d, quercetin, saw palmetto cause worse pain, certain antibiotics make pain much worse as well.

Re: Therapy insight (e-stim)
Definition of e-stim is
This sounds like kegels by machine. This is not the right treatment for CP/CPPS, in my opinion, although there was one controversial study supporting a form of e-stim: http://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/14501740Electrical stimulation uses an electrical current to cause a single muscle or a group of muscles to contract. By placing electrodes on the skin in various locations the physical therapist can recruit the appropriate muscle fibers. Contracting the muscle via electrical stimulation helps strengthen the affected muscle.
Good News! The great ProstaQ is BACK at last! You must try it.
