NO frequency issues?

Post by guy97 »

Sometimes I think the oddest thing about my pelvic pain is that it's JUST pain and soreness. Everyone else here seems to have frequency issues, but I really don't... I don't wake up at night or anything. I just have pain.

Does this mean anything?

I had no frequency issues, and nor do a lot of men with this condition.

What about lack of post-ejaculatory pain? At one point, I had some during-ejaculatory pain, but since I went on benzos that's been mostly gone. Post-ejaculation is actually the only time I feel decent.

I know Wikipedia is no hallmark of accuracy, but, a quote:
Post-ejaculatory pain, mediated by nerves and muscles, is a hallmark of the condition, and serves to distinguish CP/CPPS patients from men with BPH or normal men.
I remain concerned that while a few of my symptoms (penis pain, rectal pressure) match CP/CPPS, many of my others, or lack thereof, seem to be further away and could point to something else.

Pain during ejaculation has been reported here, so don't be so certain it's unusual.

It's sometimes a diagnosis by exclusion. You are far more likely to have CP/CPPS than a rare pudendal nerve problem.

Okay, I keep hearing about "diagnosis by exclusion," but what's the process for that?

A physical therapist already told me that I have a bound-up pelvic floor and has been able to find trigger points on my perineum that cause a lot of pain. But they're typically right on the urethra, which might replicate urinary pain anyway if pressed upon?

A diagnosis by or of exclusion (per exclusionem) is a medical condition whose presence cannot be established with complete confidence from examination or testing. Diagnosis is therefore by elimination of other reasonable possibilities.

Pressing on the urethra is unlikely to cause pain, unless it is very inflamed, and according to your cystoscopy, it's not.

Have you had internal trigger point treatments?

I've had one internal session, but my PT was unable to find any particular points of interest.

She then said that we should work on relaxing the exterior first before going back interior.

She's a very busy person and it's difficult to get times with her without booking them well in advance, which I need to start doing.

I have no objections to internal work, believe me. Anything to fix this.

Hi guy97,
I am having the same thing, pain and itchiness and muscle pull for 3 months now but no frequency. Similar to yours, mine started after unprotected oral sex. You mentioned, you got tested for UTI what was the bacteria? I got positive for Ureaplasma U. But I didn't find relief from antibiotic much.
