Coffee?

Post by Paso »

I just wanted to know if any of you drinks coffee? I am craving for a latte but have not tried one for almost 2 months. I seem not to be affected that much with food so far and I just wanted to hear if anyone is drinking any coffee? I miss it so much :x

Anyway just a small and maybe irrellevant topic but I just need to know.

Take care

I gave up coffee because of the cafeine seems to irritate my prostate . But I too loved my coffee so I sneak one on occasion . But sugar bothers my too . Is there lots of sugar in a latte?

Latte is no sugar in. Only Espresso and steamed milk. I will try a latte tommorrow to see if I get worse. Anyone got MUCH worse on coffee?

I had one cup of drip coffee for the first time is 4 weeks. I don't think it made me worse but I'm still going to stay off it for the most part.

If I am going through a good period with minimal symptoms and I have a few sips of espresso (much less than a shot, though) -it doesn't make much difference-just causes the urine to come out a little stronger.

But if I then get confident and have it for a few days, I will start to flare. I think because the caffeine hypes you up and makes you tense those muscles that create the problem.

Therefore, I would do it once in a while when things are going relatively well, but not regularly.

My belief is this................The caffeine in the coffee is a direutic and causes you to have to uriniate more. That goes for anything with caffeine. The acid in coffee is an irritant to the bladder and also can cause discomfort and frequent urination.

I used to be a avid coffee drinker, and now I might have one or two a week. I have a full bag of nice strong coffee from the Dominican that is sitting on my shelf, because I am worried it will cause a flareup if I drink it.

Yes and from what I read decafinated coffee has some caffeine and same amount of acid.

Low acid decaf coffee is available, but you may have to hunt for it. One brand is called Euromild. There are others brands. A good option if you just have to have coffee. The taste, however, isn't quite as good as the real thing.

Different chronic prostatitis / chronic pelvic pain syndrome and IC sufferers have different triggers. My bladder/prostate won't tolerate coffee  , but maybe yours will. Unfortunately, there is only one way to find out.
