Relief using a Microwaveable Heating Pad
My wife let me borrow this type of heat pack about a month into my prostatitis. I knew hot baths did help, but I didn't want to have to be confined to the tub every night. When I get home from work, I have supper and before I set down on the couch to watch TV, I take the heat pad and put it in the microwave for about 1 minute and 25 seconds. You will need to experiment with the time and your tolerance level. It definitely stays hot for a long time, and a quick walk back to the microwave will get it started all over again. There are many of these products out there. The longer narrow type like the "Carex BED BUDDY Hot Cold Pack" fits nicely under you but, one end to the small of your back and the other just under your buddies. Sometimes I would place it there when when I went to bed.
Age: 53 Onset age: | Symptoms: Constant burning in the penile area especially near the tip. Extreme burning after ejaculation, during and after urination and pain in the groin area. Some relief: Hot baths and showers, no spicy foods, laying down and relaxing, anxiety medication.

Another GREAT tool is the Magic Sac...it is similar to a large bean bag and also goes in the microwave for about 2 mins. I often set it over my bladder and pelvic when I go to bed; however, I am an IC sufferer so the attention goes to my bladder and entire pelvic region.
