Hi,
I'm not doing too bad lately. I have reached a plateau of sorts where I get to a certain point and don't really get better. I suppose it's like an examination - it can be fairly doable to get 70% but far harder to get 80%.
After my second proper PT session I had a very itchy anus. It just so happened that at my 3rd (last week) my PT found a very sore point in the sphincter. Now, I do have hemorroids so as she stretched this point out, which was knife-like pain, she must have ripped a vein as she saw spots of blood forming. I did feel much better after it, but the hemorroid pain was fierce and still they are after swelling up an awful lot. But the itchiness! God it's crazy! I thought at the start that this was a good sign, of healing, perhaps but now I think it could actually be an infection beginning.
Any thoughts?
Thanks
Very Itchy Anus!

If you google "hemorrhoids itch" you'll see that it's a standard symptom.
Good News! The great ProstaQ is BACK at last! You must try it.

Hemorrhoids run in my family, and from (unfortunate) personal knowledge, I can attest to how badly they can itch. Really, really badly.
There is also the possibility of an anal fissure, which is simply a small tear in the wall of the anus. You're particularly prone if you have constipation issues or otherwise strain a lot while using the restroom.

Re: Very Itchy Anus!
I had that and now know it was nerves running into the butt twitching. Make sure you're doing gentle anal stretching. I thought it was fissures or worms from the kids but it was a nerve twinging that felt like an itch.
CPP since 2005. Prior to CPP always overly fit and active. I am female. Had two natural births: singleton 1998 and twins 2000. 2002 emergency back surgery - L5S1 herniation. Then recurring UTIs. Usual antibiotic overload. Then constant debilitating burning bladder and reaction to many foods. Australian Pain Clinic 2007. Turning point was Dec 2009 Attended Wise Clinic in Santa Rosa USA.
Was helped by strict diet but now eating normally after years of restricted diet - wonderful. Helped by: stretching, relaxation, yoga, trigger point, warm baths. Worsened by: stress, sitting, abdominal or glute exercises and salicylates
Medication: Now off all pain clinic meds no more Endone or Elavil only Lyrica 50 mg as Dec 2010 just reherniated L5S1disc and had discectomy. Its taken years but I feel I am over it.

Thanks everyone for that. I don't mind it too much as it seems to be a result of treatment and probably not the worst sign.
