Need help and tips on what to do

Post by erikmartinsson »

I know this is a forum strictly for people with CPPS. This is NOT my situation, and I have searched the internet for other forums discussing my problem (I'm not exactly sure what it is but it seems to be bacterial prostatitis) but I haven't found anything. I know no other place to go to look for answers to my questions. Again, I'm very sorry for breaking any rules but I'm desperate.

I'm a 25 year old male from Sweden. It started with me started seeing a new girl, we had sex without condom for a couple of months and then she tested positive for chlamydia. At this point several months had past so my guessing is that we both had it for 3 -5 moths before treating it with doxyferm. I got the usual symptoms like white/cloudy discharge from my penis and burning sensation while peeing. So I went to take a chlamydia test which was of course positive and they treated me with doxyferm for 10 days. I went to the hospital for another test which was negative. During the doxyform treatment the symptoms disappeared but instead I got loads of drips of urine coming in my underwear after going to the toilet. It seems I can't get all of the urine out while peeing no matter how much time I spend on the toilet, whether I'm standing or sitting while peeing. Actually I get even more urine in my boxers after I had a piss sitting on the toilet.

So I have been to hospital and the examined me doing an ultrasound of the prostate + cystoscopy. They said they didn't found much except "maybe" the prostate was a bit swollen. They have given me ciproxin for 4 weeks + another go with 4 weeks of bactrim (sulfamethoxazole and trimethoprim). They also gave me alphablocker for 6 weeks which did nothing either. Now they say its just my head and that its purely psychosomatic. Now almost 2 years have past since first tested positive for chlamydia and its still the same, the problems with urinating, the weak urine-stream and the feeling of never getting all of the urine out is still the same. Also my sperm has changed, to a substance that is thicker and sometimes contain bits of gel-like stuff.

I know my situation is not even comparable to your guys with the pain and everything and I can't even imagine how yours are. I guess many of you think I might even be lucky with the "minor" symptoms I got but they driving me crazy. I really feel like shit, I have gotten depressed from this and my self esteem is at the bottom. I don't even have the courage to have sex with my gf anymore since there is always urine in my urethra which can come out every now and then. I tired of my underwear always smelling urine and I'm tired of always feeling wet.

I've read about Guercini who performs these intraprostatic injections which I was almost certain of doing, but then I found this forum and read about all the not so happy ended stories. I don't know what to do anymore, I don't even know if I have bacterial prostatitis but logically I guess I would, right?

The doctors and urologists in my country is not very helpful and to be honest they don't seem to know so much all the times. I'm thinking about going to see Guercini to at least let him examine me and maybe doing a PCR-DNA test to see if I actually have any bacteria in my prostate.

Please give me all the info and tips on what it might me, or what to do, which doctor to go see or what tests to perform or what treatment might me accurate for my situation.

This has turned my life upside down and has really taken away my lust for life, my will to keep on living.

If there is another forum you can guide me to, please do so since I don't want break the rules here.

Thanks in advance everyone.

There is nothing organically wrong with the urethra, no stricture. As a result, probably, of the chlamydia infection (now gone), you are left with a very mild chronic prostatitis that is causing the prostate to constrict the urethra and cause incomplete emptying.

Older men with BPH (enlarged prostate) also have some of the urine symptoms you are complaining about.

I advise taking quercetin, and separately taking cernilton, to combat inflammation in the prostate. Follow the IC diet (no caffeine, chocolate, spices, alcohol, sodas or very acid foods). Make sure you ejaculate about 2x a week to stop the buildup of inflammatory secretions in the prostate. Work on relaxation. You sound like you are also depressed and may need an antidepressant too, from a doctor, and/or and anti-anxiety drug such as a benzodiazepine.

Daily hot baths, relaxation exercises, breathing exercises. You can be sure the symptoms will fade with time, but you can hurry them along by following all these strategies.

Thank you very much for your reply webslave. It was very helpful, I will look up the meds you tipped me about.

Still I would like to get an full exam from another urologist to have second opinion. My experience with the Swedish hospitals is not very good and it feels like they didn't looked close enough on my situation. Maybe you or someone else can recommend another urologist in Europe that I could go to? From what I have read so far Dr. Guercini seems to fake test-results etc (or am I wrong?).

I've read that there can be bacteria left in the prostate and that this can only be found out by doing a DNA-PCR test on the sperm. Is this true? Could periods of treatment (like several months) with antibiotics cure me faster? Could a longer treatment with alpha-blockers help me fully emptying the bladder and urethra from urine while visiting the toilet?

Also just something I personally find a bit strange. On occasions I have done amphetamine and after about 2 hours from the onset of the drug I have not had any problems with urination and no problems of incomplete emptying. If someone have I an answer for this I would find this very interesting.

My testicles ache sometimes, usually several times per day. Why is this?

Thanks in advance and thanks for leaving my thread open webslave.

  1. Don't keep going to urologists once they have given you a clean bill of health.
  2. No, you do not have mystery bacteria lurking inside, which only a PCR test can find. Looks like you have been reading some other forums on the internet. Those forums are full of ignorant people, so disregard the chatter about infection.
  3. Don't take any more antibiotics. There is no infection any longer.
  4. Alpha blockers: take for 3 months before deciding they are not helping you. (For chronic prostatitis / chronic pelvic pain syndrome patients, a 2006 meta analysis found that they are moderately beneficial when the duration of therapy was at least 3 months. However a 2004 trial found no benefit from alfuzosin during 6 weeks of treatment and a 2008 clinical trial of alfuzosin found it was no better than placebo for treating chronic prostatitis / chronic pelvic pain syndrome in treatment-naive recently diagnosed men.)
  5. Amphetamines can cause urinary retention, so what's happening is that it seems to be helping with the dribbling by its effect on the bladder sphincter tone.
  6. Aching testicles are sometimes a symptom of CPPS. You are possibly in the early stages of CPPS, so it's important to take action now.

WS, does a TRUS ultrasound of the prostate reveal any useful information for persons with chronic prostatitis / chronic pelvic pain syndrome symptoms? Can it clearly view the bladder neck. ?

The thing with the amphetamine is not that I could not pee at all, I could pee but the feeling of not emptying the bladder and was gone, also I did not get wet in my boxers after every time I had been to the toilet. Is there any prescription or non-prescription drugs that could perform the same effects as the amphetamine that way?

So what should I do (except the tips you gave me earlier in this thread) to to prevent this from turning into CPPS?

Again thanks for your very helpful and clear answers webslave.

It's useful for excluding things, so if it's offered and insurance will pay, why not do it? Yes, it can clearly view the bladder neck.

Before you think about drugs, you can treat dribbling simply by pushing the last few drops of urine from the urethra with the fingers before the final shake.

The technique is as follows:
  • After passing urine, wait for a few seconds to allow the bladder to empty.
  • Place the fingertips of the left hand three finger-breadths behind the scrotum and apply gentle pressure.
  • Keeping the pressure in the midline, gently but positively draw the fingers forwards towards the base of the penis under the scrotum.
  • This pushes the urine forward into the penile urethra from where it can be emptied by shaking or squeezing in the usual way.
  • Before leaving the toilet, repeat the manoeuvre twice to ensure that the urethra is completely empty.
So what should I do (except the tips you gave me earlier in this thread) to prevent this from turning into CPPS?
Get the Headache in the Pelvis book and study it.

I've read about the technique on another forum and I've been doing that for about a year now. Maybe there's something I'm doing wrong (even if I don't think so) but I'm still getting wet in my boxer. I still feel that there's urine there. Could it be possible that my urethra is inflamed and the passage is very narrow? Like urethritis? Is it possible to get this from bacterial prostatitis?
If I'm standing up taking a piss 0 - 10 minutes later I get what's left in the urethra in my boxers. If I'm on the other hand are sitting down while taking peeing I get even more urine in my boxers, but then it can take up to 30 - 45 minutes, maybe even more. Does anyone else or you webslave recognize this?

What else is there to do to treat this symptom?

Then you could have urinary incontinence (stress incontinence). There are drugs like Detrol and many others, also pelvic floor training. You should see a doctor about this. It's not an infection (if you had a discharge that was always present, that would be different).

Update: I have ordered Saw palmetto and quercetin. I have Cernilton since before but I will give it another shot. How long will it take for the effects of Quercetin to show? Also, is it safe to use these supplements together or should I use them one by one?

I contacted my old urologist and he prescribed me solifenacin, I'm giving it a try and hope that it helps.

Also I will buy the book on chronic prostatitis / chronic pelvic pain syndrome as soon as I get more money.

I'll update this thread with more questions or update on my progress.

Thanks so very much so far!

From a few days to a month. Some have reported good effects only start after about 3 months, but that's quite unusual. You can use the supplements together.

Hi Erik,

This is like identical to how my case of chronic prostatitis / chronic pelvic pain syndrome came on, I was diagnosed with chlamydia after having unprotected sex and never felt like I got "better". It started out as some aching in the testicles and discharge/changed semed/burning urine. I never really got it under control in the beginning and it turned into full blown CPPS. I have now got it back down to the point where I was in the beginning (just minor discomfort). I would highly suggest getting this under control right away. Start on some quercetin and keep yourself active (stretches, walking etc.)

Not trying to scare you or anything (I am pretty much back to normal now), but I wish someone had have given me this advise in the beginning. And #1, DONT WORRY ABOUT IT.
Age: 25 | Onset Age:23 -At a point know where this is manageable, only slight discomfort and minor urinary symptoms - | Helped By: Stretching, internal massage, Relaxation, Distraction, NOT WORRYING ABOUT IT. | Worsened By: Tightening pelvis during sex/stressful situations/while sitting.

Thanks for your replies.

My doctor told me to give the solifenacin a week, but I felt no difference at all so I stopped using it. Right now I'm trying the quercetin (though its not Quercetin, does it matter?). I have also ordered the book you tipped me about webslave.

Is it possible that the chlamydia infection turned into chronic prostatitis even though I'm not experiencing any pain and that it can be fixed with stretching techniques from the book?

I'm almost constantly feeling weird sensations in my urethra, like feeling the need to go pee, or tingling sensations that is hard to describe. Sometimes I feel like the pelvic muscles (the spot between the balls and the rectum) are contracting very fast. It's hard to the describe but it's the best I can do. While taking a piss it feels like it tensed or "tight" in the downer region, in the muscles or/and around the urethra. Does someone else recognize what I'm describing?

Quercetin has a guaranteed amount of quercetin. That's one of its key attributes. Lots of commercial brands contain much less quercetin than they say on the bottle, tests by Supplier found.

Yes, infection can turn into chronic prostatitis, even when the infection is gone.

The "contracting very fast" feelings are called "fasciculations". Search this forum for that. It's a good sign.
