very depressed !!!
Around 2009 July, I found out that I was peeing constantly, I used to pee like 3 times every hour, I went to the hospital and they ran tests and did not find anything. I have been on Cipro, doxy, bactrim — nothing seems to work. Went to the urologist recently, he is suspecting that I may have prostatitis said my prostate felt soft. After he did that DRE I felt that muscle twitching ( inside bladder or prostate, or some muscle I don't know) I don't know why. He is about to put me on levaquin.
The symptoms and what makes me flare up
1. I have this feeling of my prostate or bladder is twitching or feeling of gas (sound of a deflated balloon ) but I know it is not gas happens often after holding urine longer
2. Foamy urine
3. Bowel movement flare me up
4. Sometimes split urine not all the time
5. Weak ejaculation and diminished ejaculation
6. Spicy food makes me want to pee and alcohol
I am so depressed I don't know who to turn to, I have been paying out of my pocket because I don't have insurance.
I need help from anybody who is experiencing this problem
Does prostatitis cause infertility in men? Am scared!!
Thank you everybody for your answers

Age: 30 | Onset Age: 28.5 | Symptoms:frequent urination, prostate or bladder muscle twitching (don't know which one) , sound of a deflated balloon around prostate or bladder or anus ( can't really tell) , perineum pain, burning after urination, burning after ejaculation, dribbling after voiding, Weak ejaculation and diminished ejaculation quantity, Sometimes split urine.sometimes very foamy urine.
Worsened By:Bowel movement, Arousal/ejaculation, alcohol and spicy food, holding urine longer than I should.Tests/Prior Treatments: Too many antibiotics to count, multiple urine tests (all normal) , PSA level (normal) , lots of blood work (normal) , seen urologist thinks it is Prostatitis; said my prostate felt soft, going to do a cystoscopy and CT scan just rule out anything. the doctor said that most likely that the cystoscopy and CT scan will be normal

Re: very depressed !!!
You're not alone. I've had pain for 1 year now...I'm getting better with stretching and relaxing...
Have you seen a pelvic floor therapist? My urologist send me there and my guess is that this disease is purely neuro-muscular...tightening of pelvic floor muscle under stress and pain...real tough to break the cycle...but I really think it can be done. Many people on this forums have beaten this....or they're getting better with time
Don't worry with fertility...and cancer neither.
And by the way, it's normal to feel depressed. I still have rough times when i'm in pain...it's a tough condition to have. But You'll get better trust me.
Feel free to ask me questions or just talk...it helps to feel understood...not to be alone...
Take care tedduz!

Re: very depressed !!!
Chillysun thanks a lot !! I appreciate your help, where can I find a pelvic floor therapist ? And how do you stretch and relax?
I really think I have some kinda tension because I notice not too long ago that I was always clenching the muscle that one holds when one wants to hold pee or ejaculation for many years, who knows if this has caused this I don't know?

Re: very depressed !!!
Tedduz,
I guess there are a couple of ways to find Pelvic Floor PTs near your area/region.
1. You can search for a provider in your country/state on this webpage: http://www.pelvicpain.org/providers/find_provider.aspx
2. See if the listing on this page helps you: viewtopic.php?f=45&t=6289
About stretching, there are a few stretches mentioned in the book 'A headache in the Pelvis' by Dr.Wise. I recommend you to read that book if you haven't yet! It gives you a lot of information. Anyway, some of the stretches can be found here: http://www.freewebs.com/trydent78/
I hope this helps. Welcome to the board!

I encourage anxiety prone UCPPS people to consider L-Theanine
Age, 44 onset age 37 Feb 2006 Freq. need to urinate. Sensation of having to urinate soon after going. Perineum discomfort/burning/tightness, pubic area discomfort @ times, poor urine stream, post urine dripping/spray. All symptoms have improved with my protocol. At the worst I give it a 1 to 2 on irritation and discomfort and frequency. Helps: Elavil 5mg for anxiety and mast cell protection, (will only take it as needed) self internal PT as needed, stretching, walking, stairmaster cardio workout and light weights, reducing stress, moment to moment relaxation, deep breathing relaxation and using a Theracane. Makes worse: sitting for long periods, stress, over focusing on it. Currently 95%-98% recovered. Stay positive, relaxed and control your anxiety.

Thanks! How long did it take you guys to relax your pelvis muscles, I have made this a bad habit, I noticed that everything I do I always clench my pelvis muscles even during sex, I believe this was the major cause of my problem

Re: very depressed !!!
I fought this issue for 5 months before I found this forum!!!! Through stretching, PT, acupuncture, relaxing, and Quercetin, Q-ural, Elavil, Flexeral, I'm almost pain free most days. I now have hope, when everything seemed pretty bleak!!!!
Keep the faith, a bad outlook is only making things worse!

Re: very depressed !!!
Difficult to remember...after the two year mark I would say that I got to the management level and now approaching 5 years I would say it's a non issue in my life now with very little or no discomfort...But I worked and continue to work hard...Being 95% to 98% recovered is good enough for me...It's a lifelong condition you have to manage...Accepting that is the first step to recovery. No cure...Just management.tedduz wrote:Thanks! Re: very depressed !!!
Yes! for our sub group...no for a normal pelvic floor...I have had bouts with that very exact thing...Not to worry because in a way that is good news because it's telling you that what is most likely causing your discomfort and so forth is pelvic floor dysfunction which can be treated with PT and learned self internal work and relaxation...
Try this moment to moment relaxation..drop your pelvic floor as if to pee with out peeing...You are unlearning how to ride a bike here...
