Summer months and less activity in the forum

Post by carld »

It's always intriguing to me to see more inactivity among forum users here in the summer months...Again, further proof that warmer months help reduce symptoms by contributing to muscles loosing up...or perhaps summer vacations in warmer places and mix the relaxing nature of summer and how heat plays a roll in our condition...

Just an observation I have seen over and over for 4 summers now in this forum...Interesting... :-D

Age, 44 onset age 37 Feb 2006 Freq. need to urinate. Sensation of having to urinate soon after going. Perineum discomfort/burning/tightness, pubic area discomfort @ times, poor urine stream, post urine dripping/spray. All symptoms have improved with my protocol. At the worst I give it a 1 to 2 on irritation and discomfort and frequency. Helps: Elavil 5mg for anxiety and mast cell protection, (will only take it as needed) self internal PT as needed, stretching, walking, stairmaster cardio workout and light weights, reducing stress, moment to moment relaxation, deep breathing relaxation and using a Theracane. Makes worse: sitting for long periods, stress, over focusing on it. Currently 95%-98% recovered. Stay positive, relaxed and control your anxiety.

Happens every year. :)

And there are studies linking cold to an increased incidence of this disorder.

Maybe thats why I have been here more its winter in Sydney and its cold ...but summers coming yipeeee can't wait to get back in the pool in the sun again!
CPP since 2005. Prior to CPP always overly fit and active. I am female. Had two natural births: singleton 1998 and twins 2000. 2002 emergency back surgery - L5S1 herniation. Then recurring UTIs. Usual antibiotic overload. Then constant debilitating burning bladder and reaction to many foods. Australian Pain Clinic 2007. Turning point was Dec 2009 Attended Wise Clinic in Santa Rosa USA.
Was helped by strict diet but now eating normally after years of restricted diet - wonderful. Helped by: stretching, relaxation, yoga, trigger point, warm baths. Worsened by: stress, sitting, abdominal or glute exercises and salicylates
Medication: Now off all pain clinic meds no more Endone or Elavil only Lyrica 50 mg as Dec 2010 just reherniated L5S1disc and had discectomy. Its taken years but I feel I am over it.

Not only the cold, but in the US, the latter part of the year is one long string of holidays. Shopping, travel, family get-togethers, and lots of other happy-but-stressful things going on.

Oddly, I do well in cold weather. Of course, Florida cold is a different creature from blizzard cold. ;)

Whats up Carl? I'm still checking the forum once in awhile. Learning to live with this Perineum discomfort/burning/tightness. Maybe 90% better since applying what I learned on this forum. How are you doing?

Hi Rellis...My condition is under control...It's not much of a thought in my life at this point. If there was a % to put it at, I would say 95 to 98 % recovered and that's where I will stay...Very grateful for that.

Very glad to read that you are at the 90 % recovered...This is good news. :-D Keep in touch from time to time.
