All I need is some help please !

Post by adyxon »

Hi, first of sorry for my English, I speak much better than writing.

I am a 39 yo Dublin taxi driver, married father of 9 yo girl, my life was normal until last December, when I started with urinary frequency (every hour) , no any pain at that time, I ran to my GP and he gave me amoxiclin for a week with ro relief, then Zithromax, then Cipro with no any relief. I asked him insistently for a urologist reference, but he considered It was not necessary.

I studied my self on the internet and searching all the web sites related to my symptoms and I was very worried about bladder or prostate cancer, from January I started getting insomnia, and I have not managed to sleep just 3 hour per night, then I could not drive my taxi because fatigue. Finally on mid of January my GP decided to refer me to a specialist, I got the letter 3 days after...and surprise....my appointment was on 3th of April 2010

Then I became very anxious and depressed for my condition, and I decided my self to run on my native country (Romania) to a private clinic for check up. Follow the investigation the results was:

"The patient is clinically evaluated (regular external genital organs, rectal touch: tonic anal sphincter, integral rectal mucous membrane, 3.5/3 cm wide prostate, symmetrical and elastic prostatic lobes, preserved median sulcus). 9 CT imagistic abdomen- regular. We practice the urethrocystoscopy evaluation, which reveals the prostatic urethra as congested, with pseudoproliferative lesions, congested bladder mucous membrane, hypertrophic interurethra bar, prominent lateral lobes of the prostate which merge into each other on the median line, the length of the prostatic urethra is under 5 cm. Final diagnostic: Chronic Prostatitis "

Then they proposed me for urethrocystoscopy and TUMT ( microwave therapy of the prostate). Because have not had enough time to make a good decision, I accepted TUMT. After TUMT they gave me some antidepressants (Xanax and Lexapro ) I was very down at that moment and I did not realised what I was doing, then I came back in Ireland the return fly was horrible, I cried like a baby on my return plane, and I was prayed God for getting better.

On the 3th of April I went also to urologist in Ireland, I showed him the investigation I did in Romania, and he discharge me from the hospital because "I can't go with 2 doctors in the same time", I thing that was very unfair I was waiting for that appointment 4 months and I was discharged in only 2 min without any examination   why, It was so unfair !!!

Then instead feeling better after TUMT I started to feel worse, frequency of urine every hour, burning on my penis 24/day, feel the bladder not proper empty, fatigue, and major depression, I always cry like a child  when I remember what I was before and what I become in a so short time.

I went to my GP again and he referred me again to a urologist my place is on 7 July, but I feel is to long time to wait and I am really afraid I have something more than CP.

I wrote an email to Dr. Guercini on Rome and he tell me the description after my investigation seems to be more BPH than CP.

I called the that clinic again, and I told them I am not very well they asked my to give up the Xanax and Lexapro because may have urinary symptoms because of them. I stopped to take them 4 weeks ago, and the first 2 weeks was horrible ( eg. suicidal thoughts, feeling I am not my self.. ).

How can I cope with this situation I don't really know..... I can't work, I can't to anything, can't seat in the car, facing a big financial problem at this moment, destroying my wife and child life. I am feel like a homeless with no hope, and no any future, I have been to emergency room on hospital al least 6 time in the last 3 months, then 10-20 times to my GP and nobody helped me !! I see the most patients who taked abx, they have a relief for few days but me not, I got even worse. What I know I have a very big infection, that what I feel on this moment, if anybody can give any help regarding my situation thank you very much guys !!!!!!!

  • You have no infection
  • You are catastrophizing, in other words having panicky thoughts that are making everything worse
  • The TUMT was a mistake, but do not worry about it
  • The more you read this website, the more you'll understand your condition.
Use Google translation to get the full meanings, for example this page.

If you sit with a tense pelvis while driving the taxi, it will make the condition worse.

Please try some meditation with a tape that focuses on relaxation of the body parts ie. google Gerald Grow Secret Garden on iTunes its free and only 20 mins. Try to stop freaking out as its only making it worse..I know that easy to say..start a little stretching and get a donut pillow to sit on while driving it takes the pressure off the pelvic muscles while your sitting. When your driving at each red light tummy breath and think about dropping your bottom as if you were to go to the loo..You will be able to drive your car.. I now sit alllll day and it does hurt by the end of the day but I couldn't sit at all two years ago...Buy A Headache in the Pelvis you will see yourself in it as I did. Best wishes
CPP since 2005. Prior to CPP always overly fit and active. I am female. Had two natural births: singleton 1998 and twins 2000. 2002 emergency back surgery - L5S1 herniation. Then recurring UTIs. Usual antibiotic overload. Then constant debilitating burning bladder and reaction to many foods. Australian Pain Clinic 2007. Turning point was Dec 2009 Attended Wise Clinic in Santa Rosa USA.
Was helped by strict diet but now eating normally after years of restricted diet - wonderful. Helped by: stretching, relaxation, yoga, trigger point, warm baths. Worsened by: stress, sitting, abdominal or glute exercises and salicylates
Medication: Now off all pain clinic meds no more Endone or Elavil only Lyrica 50 mg as Dec 2010 just reherniated L5S1disc and had discectomy. Its taken years but I feel I am over it.

Go buy some quercetin (good quality) at a health store in the UK (can't get any accredited quercetin product there, AFAIK), and a bottle of Theanine too. Try to get a benzodiazepine from your GP. Take hot baths. Relax. Meditate. Listen to music that puts you into a trance like state. Get a wand and try to massage yourself internally. These are all things that can help ...

Too much vitamin C (ascorbic ACID) can cause a sore stomach, so take it with food of some sort. I don't like to take more than 1000mg of VitC on any one day.

Hi Adyxon,

I too live in Ireland and am from the Couty of Kildare. I'm Irish. Listen to me .... Relax.

I got so worked up about this and how everyone I went to didn't know about this (CPPS) and still don't know about it. You are your best doctor now. I was very low, I broke down, had to go home, I live and work in Galway. But I haev got better, I feel much better now, and it's thanks to this forum mainly that I feel better.

Order the book 'A Headache in the Pelvis'. Eason's couldn't find this online so I used Dubray books but try all book shops, it's worth it.

Keep a food diary to see if any foods make you worse and stop eating these, usualy spicy and sugary foods don't help.
Talk to your doctor about getting 'amytriptyline, this will help settle the nerves.

Cut out caffeine - tea, coofee, drink water-based drinks and herbal tea. If you need someone to talk to my mobile number is 086 3929107 and I'll be pleased to help with anything. I have had this for a year and a half now so I know enough about this.

Take care,

Darren.

Hi, I have been 3 months holiday in Romania, I had 3 visits to Prof. Coman one of the best urologist over there. He asked me to stop any abx and alpha bl. and take some vitamins and Tianli (natural potency stimulator) and to have sex more often to drain the prostate, I still have that bloody symptoms again after 2 month feeling much better (specially mental).

Also I bought from Bucharest a gym device to bring more blood at the pelvic area, many people claimed to be cured from prostatitis using this thing. I was very suspicious before buy it, but I have to try everything to get cured!

I will keep you up with the results. You can find information about this device on http://www.fitnesspelvis.prostatita.ro/ its in Romanian, use google translator.

Hi Adyxon.

This is Darren. I was talking to you on the phone.

Good news - I found a physical therapist that is trained in CPPS. I had my first appointment with her today. She's in Dundrum in Dublin and she got training from America. She is the only person in Ireland that is able to deal with this issue. She found trigger points in me that nearly made me faint! They recreated urethral burning and an overall horrible sensation. Here's the link to her Clinic, Milltown Clininc.

http://www.milltownphysiotherapy.com/

Maeve Whelan is the PT and she is fantastic!

Give her a ring and book in asap!
