In the last week or so I've become hell bent on finding internal TP's, but to no avail. I've reached around there pressing on muscles and examining how they move and not really found anything I would call stiff, or that recreated any symptoms I have. I have been going to physio on and off for the last 5 months and my physio says I have no TPs. With further research on this board, it appears that MANY PTs miss TPs in chronic prostatitis / chronic pelvic pain syndrome people, which is why I refuse to believe I don't have any. In A HEADACHE IN THE PELVIS and this board is says levator ani TP's are responsible for tip of penis and urinary pain, which are some of my main symptoms, which is why I am certain some sort or internal therapy is necessary.
I don't have enough money to go to Stanford (I'm Canadian, and on medical EI, with only 1000$ saved from when I was working).
Maybe some of you guys who do self internal TP can point me in the right direction?
I'm not exactly sure where the diagram in A HEADACHE IN THE PELVIS is pointing for the levator ani TPs...It looks like its right NEXT to the prostate on the far back side...I have fairly long fingers, and can reach all the way around my prostate but I don't really feel any muscle there when I contract, nor do I feel any pain when I press around my prostate on ALL side, even the top far side. I hear of people using 7" wands and such...but I feel NO muscle past my prostate, it just all feels like rectal lining. I've pressed on the rectal lining but it doesn't seem like there are bands of muscle really that far back. I can't really picture where people are reaching with their wands right now. I bought a glass wand similar to the one that is suggested from Amazon from a local sex store, although its a little less curved....I tried using it, but I can feel anything like I can with my fingers and have NO idea what is going on in there at all.
Is there muscle further in past the prostate on one's front side? and I'm just retarded and can't find it?
It seems the levator ani is more on the sides and posterior side than around the prostate...
Sorry, I'm just getting frustrated...
Basically, my main question is: Is there muscle bands that are known to have chronic prostatitis / chronic pelvic pain syndrome trigger points way way up past the prostate, where it feels really really just like rectal/intestinal lining?
Is it really worth it to use a wand when I can reach all the way around my prostate easily?
Any feedback would be much much appreciated!!!!!
This board is a lifesaver!!!!!

Guidance with internal TP work at home?
Age: 26 - | Onset Age: 23 - | Symptoms: painful urination, painful ejaculation, cold penis, chronic pain through perenial area and penis esp. at tip of penis, penis desensitization, general pelvic discomfort and pain, dribbling, shooting pains up to abs, VERY easy loss of erection - | Worsened By: cold, sexual activity, alcohol, stress/stressful/strenuous activity, heavy lifting, concentrated urine, marajuana, hiking downhill, running - No Effect: stretching, acupuncture, mindfullness, relaxation, meditation, a blockers (alfuzosin, tamsulosin), antibiotics, painkiller, muscle relaxents, valerian root, quercetin (3 months...tried twice), low oxylate diet, herbal tinctures - Currently Trying: Lyrica 450mg/day + Tegretol 600mg/day. Seems to help a little, but the withdrawal + possibilities of worse pain make it scary to go off...

The best advice I could give is to go to the clinic in Santa Rosa. The wand they give you is great.
Age:26 | Onset Age:24 Nov. 2008 | Symptoms:Sharp pain deep in the urethra right above the testicles at the base of penis, dribbling at the end of very painfull urination with a weak stream, on and off frequent urination. Pain in the perineum. Premature ejaculation and weak dribbling ejaculate. Helped BY: Stretching, external PT, relaxation(although this is very hard to do.) The verdict is still out on the internal for me. Attended the Wise clinic and was told my main problem was my abs. I have two trigger points internal but I can't seem to find any relief from the wand, but practice makes perfect. For everyone that has had a bacterial infection ruled out by a doctor then CPPS just might be your problem. Look into the Stanford/Wise-Anderson Protocol. Its very insightful and worth the money. Remember, dont give up!

To follow up on that I know its frustrating when people keep telling you to just go to the clinic and it might seem impossible for you. I felt that way too for awhile before I finally just decided to just do it no matter what. Have you had any luck since your last post?

No this wand is not for retail sale yet. They specifically give it to the patients at the Stanford clinic. Each individual recieves one that has a stopper depending on what their height is so that they can reach maximim success with their TP's, but also not hurt themselves by going too deep. Its a very good prouduct and the best self use tool out there for internal trigger points. I know it's a bummer you can't get this online, sorry brother.

Well, that really sucks because what about those of us who went to the clinic years ago when they didn't have it? I guess I will just use a dilator or just my finger. At least using a finger you can actually feel where issues are at.

Yeah for sure that's not fair they didn't have it then. Was the price of the clinic the same as it is now?
