Has anyone ever seen Shoskes?

Post by snoopstang »

I am only about 10 hours away from his clinic and I was thinking about making an appt and going to see him. I don't even know my correct diagnosis anymore except prostatitis. I know it started out bacterial, went into remission and now something is back...

Dr Shoskes is a member here. He is a researching urologist with many published papers to his name. If he is available to you, he is an excellent choice as your urologist.

That said, just as Dr Rodney Anderson is an adjunct to what Dr Wise does in California, Dr Shoskes would be unlikely to be your main avenue of treatment, unless your problem is purely within his purview (a urological problem only), which is probably unlikely. But from what I understand, he has a team of allied experts that perform all forms of treatment, so he may refer you to one of them.

He may also enrol you in a study of new medications, if you are willing (not sure if this is still ongoing).
Good News! The great ProstaQ is BACK at last! You must try it.

I've been to Shoskes and to the team at Cleveland Clinic. He would be a good place to start. If he recommends that you need Physical Therapy (i.e., if he diagnoses you with pelvic floor issues), there are therapists at Cleveland Clinic who do internal/external treatment. I found, for me however, that going to the Stanford/Wise-Anderson Protocol gave me the confidence to do physical therapy on my own. It beats traveling to a one-hour session and then traveling home (in your case a pretty considerable distance). But all things else being equal, Shoskes would be a good place to start.
