Question New Sufferer
Question New Sufferer
Hey folks,
I'm not sure if I'm considered chronic, acute or even if I have prostatitis or whatever the label is (don't want to label me with something in fear it will be for life). Basically, a month and half ago, I felt a weird sensation in my shaft. After 5 days I went to the walk in, did 2 test for urine and showed I had a UTI but no bacterial growth or STDs. Doc gave me 5 days of Cipro. After 3 days, I couldn't hold my pee and it got worse. I went to a urologist and he told me I have prostatitis and said I need to take the Cipro for 28 days.
Eventually, I could hold my bladder again but the constant burn in my penis was killing me. It would come and go. When I finished the treatment, the pain came back. Burning in my penis. 24/7 for 9 days! ( I wanted to die) I went to emergency. They told me all looks good with test and to take advil (which doesn't help). I started doing the broccoli treatment. The same time as the treatment, I started taking 1 Aleve (naproxen) at night which helped. BTW, my pee is like an old man. Anyway, I got a second opinion and the urologist #2 told me he never head of anyone having constant burning on the right side of his shaft. So I am like "what am I the only person with a burning penis who is deemed to have prostatitis". He couldn't answer. He then prescribed me Celebrex and Xatral, which I refuse to take. I am 33, healthy and I will figure this out naturally. (BTWthe nerve between my scrotum and anus began to get sore after the pills).
Anyway, I have another urologist appointment with a new doc and seeing a fertility clinic in March since no doc wants to do any tests such as sperm test or whatever else is needed. I don't think I was diagnosed properly in the beginning, Do you guys think this was a case of non specific urethritis that turned into prostatitis? Should I have had doxy instead?
As of now, I am on my second week of broccoli treatment. Yesterday I stopped the Aleve (naproxen), and the burning penis is better. My pee is at 40% better but I'm scared it will return.
Any advice would be great. I lost 20 lbs and now weigh 138. Scary! I've been meditating, watching my diet, walking, stretching, stopped working out with weights, cut out meat. My only vice is smoking which has given me the only comfort.
Please respond positively. I can't read negative stories anymore. It has caused me such great anxiety.
Lastly, I have any accredited quercetin product and a bottle of quercetin and swedish flower pollen ( I haven't started). Want to see if broccoli treatment works.
I am taking now D-mannose only.
Sorry this was long : ( Advice welcomed!

You can read my starter list in my signature to help you...
At my worst I got to 138 pounds also because the anxiety over the discomfort can take over....So I know how you feel...The good news is this condition is absolutely manageable but it takes complete dedication.
More good news is once you learn it becomes empowering that you can treat your self and not rely on doctors...Stay positive in this difficult time and look into taking a trip to the Wise/ Anderson clinic if you can afford it....
Be well...I think you will slowly recover and get your life back...There will be ups and downs for sure, but I went to hell and back and now I have my life back...I'm not 100% but I feel as though I'm recovering and to a point where this condition does not rule my life...Today is your first day to wellness by accepting that you have this condition and you will fight...

I encourage anxiety prone UCPPS people to consider L-Theanine
Age, 44 onset age 37 Feb 2006 Freq. need to urinate. Sensation of having to urinate soon after going. Perineum discomfort/burning/tightness, pubic area discomfort @ times, poor urine stream, post urine dripping/spray. All symptoms have improved with my protocol. At the worst I give it a 1 to 2 on irritation and discomfort and frequency. Helps: Elavil 5mg for anxiety and mast cell protection, (will only take it as needed) self internal PT as needed, stretching, walking, stairmaster cardio workout and light weights, reducing stress, moment to moment relaxation, deep breathing relaxation and using a Theracane. Makes worse: sitting for long periods, stress, over focusing on it. Currently 95%-98% recovered. Stay positive, relaxed and control your anxiety.

Re: Question New Sufferer
Thanks guys, Do you take the any accredited quercetin product with or without food? I read bromelain needs to be to be taken on empty stomach. As well, I don't know what PT stands for but it sounds dirty:P
Lastly, i have been doing stretches now every other day 35 minutes with p90x stretching video. At this point I am not doing any weights anymore. Don't need to burn calories. Peeing is a little weak still and I dribble like an old man. Fortunately, I own my own company and I have been able to have people run it. But I do find myself sitting down most of the day in front of the computer ( maybe i need a dog). I'm a little anxious about doing things right now. How do you stop yourself from worrying it will come back. You can only do positive thinking for so many hours a day. Any tips on how to keep yourself busy and get your mind of it.
I will fill out my profile shortly

Well what's important is breaking the vicious cycle of anxiety and tension...
Did you read my starter list?
Pelvic floor dysfunction from possibly being a hard charger type A personality...Don't know you but I do know that you are lite hard with anxiety and understandably so...I was there....
You may consider low dose Elavil 10MG...
Or break the cycle with Xanax or Valium or some type of benzodiazepine under a doctor's care to relax you and calm muscles down to possibly ease symptoms...I feel this is a muscular problem through genetics and diet and stress...Read up here and look into seeing a physical therapist to have your pelvic floor looked at...It's daunting I know...but it is what it is...

Re: Question New Sufferer
I'm def type A. What abou the l-theanine? I'm a little worried about doing anti depressants. I think i will begin getting weekly massages. In terms of diet. I eat very well. Always have but went through a tough break up (on and off) for about 6 months, plus recession didn't help. I think that may have cause one of the links to break within me. My goal now is not to work too much, and to do things that I enjoy. Little worried about travelling right now but my goal is end of march to hit a beach.
In terms of Pelvic floor dysfunction, I guess the best thing to do right now is stretches and some yoga? Little scared about doing prostate stuff right now. I got that trigger point book. But what does PT stand for?
Lastly, i will begin the Quercetin with swedish flower pollen and d-mannose (instead of cranberry) see how that goes for a while. Thanks for all your help. I appreciate. I pray this is an acute situation.

Re: Question New Sufferer
PT = Physical Therapy...There is no prostate massaging with PT...In fact we don't support any type of massaging of the prostate...
Get the book A headache in the Pelvis, the latest addition to learn about all this and what is likely happening to you...
L-theanine is an amino acid supplement that helps relax you by increasing alpha waves in the brain which is linked to relaxation...I swear by it...No side effects, it's in green tea but it acts as an antagonist against the caffeine...That's why for the most part green tea drinkers aren't usually all cranked up and nervous...the way coffee does...

Re: Question New Sufferer
Thanks Carl. I ordered the book off Ebay. And will get the L-theanine. Do you recommend 2 times a day Quercetin? Lastly, will i ever be able to drink again. I quit caffeine which is cool but man I miss having a beer? Maybe I need to drink red wine instead. Anyway not ready for that right now but I look forward to getting a little typsy.

Re: Question New Sufferer
Once you start to recover...you can slowly re-introduce things...
Beer= pain for me...Red wine is fine for me when I occasionally have a drink
Coffee is a hit and miss...I should generally just stay away from it...But that's going to be trial and error once you get to a good place...
Take the Quercetin as directed for 4 weeks and 1 week off and so forth....
I have a saying here...for us hard chargers...Charge hard but in a relaxed way!
There is also an irony with us hard chargers that gives us the advantage...Ready....
Our personality is what most likely got us in this mess...but it's the same personality that can get us out!
This site gives you the tools to help you...It's empowering...

Re: Question New Sufferer
General rule of thumb in my opinion...stay away from those free big tit websites and sitting in front of your lap top to jerk off...
It's a pelvic killer...
Have sex or if you must masturbate...ejaculate no more than 2 times a week right now to keep the prostate clear...Put your lap top on a counter if you have one and stand...
For sex keep your pelvic relaxed don't try and bang like a porn star, have her on top and just let it happen...
Just my opinion...

oh boy, no more than 2 times! Ouch! That might be hard.
Ok i will have to calm down then. I read to ejaculate frequently to clear the pipes.

No, that advice is bad advice, usually dispensed by clueless doctors confused between UCPPS and acute/chronic bacterial prostatitis.d_man wrote:I read to ejaculate frequently to clear the pipes.

Re: Question New Sufferer
Cool thanks. One thing with me it doesn't hurt to ejaculate. On another note. Yesterday I took two Quercetins. Gave me a weird taste by the end of the day? Is this normal. I think maybe since I had a men's multi vitamin (no iron) earlier, the zinc with everything gave it to me. Suggest I stop taking multi-vitamins? What should or shouldn't I take while on this? I forgot to mention I am taking a probiotic Culterelle since the Cipro messed with my inner body so much. My tongue is not the same. I thought I had thrush but Doc told me it's just a nasty tongue.
Lastly, I got a massage yesterday and this morning I woke up and there is no more pain on the right of the shaft (maybe slight, comes and goes). Not sure if this is just from being chill and massage, the 2 doses of any accredited quercetin product or my body naturally healing. All I know, is I'm in a good mood right now as of 7 :30 AM! Today is going to be a good day!

Re: Question New Sufferer
Keep taking vits, weird taste not important. Only thing to avoid while using any accredited quercetin product is antibiotics.
