Lackluster ejaculation and CPPS - chicken or egg?

Post by etaoinshrdlu »

This has never happened with a girl, but quite often when I masturbate, my erection will feel tenuous and my ejaculation will be very "lackluster." Instead of shooting out, it will just sort of dribble. There's not much sensation of pleasure, either. Whenever this happens, I'm in extreme discomfort the rest of the night and at least the next day, and sometimes until I can have a satisfactory orgasm again. Which makes masturbation quite a gamble, because it TAKES regular ejaculation for me to feel okay -- the times I've felt the best and most symptom-free, I've been having sex or masturbating (successfully) every day -- but these days, since I'm scared of the outcome, it's down to every few days and a few more symptoms.

I'm anticipating that I'll start having regular sex again soon (I've been single for a while, starting to get serious with a girl) and sex almost NEVER makes things worse on more than a short-term basis. But that's still a little ways off, and it certainly won't be every day.

Last night's session -- which I thought I needed -- made me feel pretty bad today. Instead of the typical and ignorable sensations of heaviness and frequency, it's a familiar and awful dry ache and numbness. I feel both disconnected and queasy down there. Anyone know why that happens? Is something getting clogged? Whenever it does, there's also very little precum produced, which I'm sure is part of the mystery.

The question is whether my chronic prostatitis / chronic pelvic pain syndrome flare was just waiting to happen and contributed to this quasi-impotence or whether I should just make sure I'm really aroused before I um have a toss. Note that around this girl, my libido and potence are a-okay.

I'd give Viagra a try if it weren't linked to acid reflux (the reason I can't take alpha blockers).

This disorder has a variety of effects on sexuality.
  • The muscles of the pelvic floor are chronically tensed and become weak and hyperirritable
  • The constant low level nerve activity required to maintain this tension affects the genitourinary tract, causing mast cell mediated inflammation
  • The nett result is weak erections, weak ejaculations (a muscular event in part), and inflamed ducts that can obstruct the flow of ejaculate.
All of these effects fade and reverse as the condition wanes. None are permanent.

So, essentially, what I'm doing is ejaculating in an already weakened state, and that's causing a full-blown flare? There have even been a few times that sex has led to a full flare, despite strong erections and ejaculations, but those times I was already in the middle of a flare I'd gotten myself into as described above.

(Note that I'm not counting heaviness and pain rather than achy discomfort immediately after ejaculation, resolving over the course of the night, as a flare -- typically that means I'm doing it right and is what it takes to get me out of a flare.)

Yes. To help prevent flares caused by ejaculation, you need to use the technique I discovered of deliberately relaxing the pelvis during orgasm. This makes symptoms much milder.
