clear discharge

Post by inflamed »

Hi Been a while since I posted, hope some of you are better or at least improved, I left my job and went travelling as my condition had improved and thought I deserved it... . Didn't have any bad flares the whole six months I was away

Have searched forum for this symptom, has been brought up a few times but there seems to be no definite answer.

I am regularly getting a clear discharge from the penis, at no particular time, does anyone else get this, can anyone shed any light on it?

Hi there,

Glad to hear that, for the most part, you've been feeling better. It's great that you took the time to travel and enjoy life! Hope you saw some interesting sights.

I'm not a doctor, so there's no way that I can diagnose the problem you're inquiring about. However, I can tell you that it's a very common symptom. Just put 'clear discharge' into the search tool and you'll find a great many posts. My guess is that, for most people, this is surplus prostatic fluid which is forced out for one reason or another. It usually happens following defecation and/or urination for most, but I've heard of others who just have it spontaneously. Might be the result of spasm compressing the prostate?

Anyhow. If that's your only symptom at the moment, I wouldn't be too alarmed. You could always head to the doctor if you need that peace of mind, though. A regular checkup never hurts, and you could bring it up during that.
I am not a physician. This is not medical advice. Consult your doctor!

Age: 26 Onset Age: 17 Symptoms: Shooting, nerve-like pains throughout the penis, which abruptly hit and leave. Testicular pain, perineum pain, burning/irritative urination, extended pain after ejaculation. Occasionally, some allodynia or ache in the coccyx/sacrum/thigh/buttocks/legs. Diagnosis: Pelvic floor dysfunction, degenerated lumbar disk, and mildly herniated lumbar disk. Helped By: Physical therapy, pain management doctor, hot baths, therapy pool, stretching regimen, breathing exercises, relaxation, distraction. Worsened By: Arousal/ejaculation (worst), constipation, panicking/obsessing, other triggers depend upon current symptoms. Tests/Prior Treatments: Too many antibiotics to count, multiple urine tests (all normal), testicular ultrasound (normal), bladder and renal ultrasound (normal), lumbar and pelvic MRI with and w/o contrast (revealed disk problems), Elavil 25mg (caused retention), Flomax 0.4mg.

The subclinical inflammation in the prostatic ducts that many men with chronic prostatitis / chronic pelvic pain syndrome experience leads oftentimes to incomplete emptying of the prostate during ejaculation. The fluid tends to "leak" over time. Not significant, but may indicate, in the affected, that the condition is smouldering and more attention needs to be paid to it.
Good News! The great ProstaQ is BACK at last! You must try it.

I agree with Mark...I get this as well from time to time after a BM. I believe it's a result of the pressure the BM has on the prostate that has left over fluid that was not completely expelled from the dysfunction of the PC muscle to ejaculate completely. A tight PC muscle is my strong belief...

Age, 44 onset age 37 Feb 2006 Freq. need to urinate. Sensation of having to urinate soon after going. Perineum discomfort/burning/tightness, pubic area discomfort @ times, poor urine stream, post urine dripping/spray. All symptoms have improved with my protocol. At the worst I give it a 1 to 2 on irritation and discomfort and frequency. Helps: Elavil 5mg for anxiety and mast cell protection, (will only take it as needed) self internal PT as needed, stretching, walking, stairmaster cardio workout and light weights, reducing stress, moment to moment relaxation, deep breathing relaxation and using a Theracane. Makes worse: sitting for long periods, stress, over focusing on it. Currently 95%-98% recovered. Stay positive, relaxed and control your anxiety.

Yeah I definitely recommend some travelling (left my job) if you get your condition under control, although getting a bit bored of being unemployed now, no regrets tho. Still have other symptoms, but I'm no way as bad as I have been. Thanks for clearing that up for me (excuse the pun).

I don't think I will check with the doctor, as I know what the outcome will be ie urine test, or STD test with no sign of infection... . Do I sound sceptical.

cheers
