Gas, cramps, and constipation

Post by MS »

Anyone have any ideas on why I experience spasms and a strong sense of urgency (even though I just urinated) when I have gas or a stool "brewing." Am I constricting or over-tightening my pelvic floor muscles?

Also, during a hard stool, the next urination is usually painfull/burining.

The muscles involved in defecation are the selfsame pelvic floor muscles putatively involved in pelvic myoneuropathy. When you engage them and their nerves, you can end up with something akin to post-ejaculatory syndrome, and for the same reasons.
Good News! The great ProstaQ is BACK at last! You must try it.

MS, I experience the exact same thing. Once I have a bowel movement, this feeling usually eases up. For that reason I've been taking Lactulose to try and improve my regularity. Had been working very good until this week, so I'm not sure what happened. Does anyone know if there is a muscle-relaxant that will work on all the pelvic muscles? Maybe this would help.

I have the same problem. After defecation the pain dramatically increase: I feel a deep pain in the urethra, then in the back and testicles. And I feel the need to pee. The urethra is sore and painfull. It takes a couple of hours to be back as normal (which means normal every day pain, and no sitting).

As of today I found nothing that really help. The best is Bacoflen 10mg, 3 tablets per day (with food) + Valium 5 to 10 drops, 2 times a day.

I have similiar symptoms. In the time before (anywhere from a few hours to a day) a bowel movement, my symptoms flare up (urgency to urinate, frequency, uncomfortable feeling in the prostate/urethra area. Once I've had the BM, I feel considerable better.

I have also noticed I seem to have more symptoms of IBS since this started a few months ago. Certainly more gas and irregularity of bm's.
