About 6 mins in.... then the main event about 20 mins in the uro claims he can see prostatitis down the camera and shows you

http://www.channel4.com/programmes/emba ... up#2917352
Age:33 | Onset Age:19 | Symptoms:burning urethra, deep sore stinging around the perineum, dribbling | Helped By:when flare starts deep relaxing over a toilet to let out dribbling urine, hot bath, rubbing a heat cream on the perineum, Tens with a pad on the perineum, running, medication (solpadol) for pain. Current treatment: PT. | Worsened By:sitting, stressing over it, ejaculation, sometimes alcohol but I risk it. Been feeling a lot better last 6 months about 85% with a few flares lasting about 5 days. No longer having PT. Stretching every other night and I believe time is also a big factor for me

Hi Graeme,

Unfortunately, it seems that only people living in the UK can watch videos on that site.

Wonder what he's seeing that he claims is prostatitis. Maybe just surface inflammation during cystoscopy?

He describes it as fluffy tissue on the prostate and points it out on the screen from the camera .He says this confirms the diagnosis!!!

it is also described as ground breaking treatment ,massage etc he gives the patient before the antibiotics etc :58_83:

I've had a uro tell me the same thing - he can see inflammation when doing a cystoscopy. He said he can see inflammation in the urethra close to the prostate. I don't remember the source to quote, but I've been told this is just not possible and is a misleading statement by a uro. I've never had a cystoscopy performed, but that was one his "selling" points for me to proceed.

I haven't/can't view the above referenced video, but I'm curious if that uro is claiming the same thing.
Age:35 | Onset Age:31 | Symptoms:Frequent urination w/ high urine output each time, (good day 6 times - bad day 12 times) continuous sensation of having to urinate; burning, raw feeling throughout abdomen; Bowel patterns changed (increased); cramping | Helped By:External & Internal Massage, Hot Tub, Playing sports, stretching, alcohol

As far as I know, you can only view a small portion of the gland via cystoscopy, that being the prostatic urethra and the ducts therein. These are apparent where the urethra passes through the prostate before connecting to the bladder.

If you do a search, you'll see several posts from people whose urologists have claimed to view inflammation at that location. I'm sure it's possible to see inflamed ducts, but as we've all come to personally know, that doesn't necessarily mean infection.

Graeme's accounting of this guy's "ground breaking" treatment (massage + antibiotics) sounds suspiciously like the Manila Protocol, which is anything but cutting edge.

After a DRE, my GP told me that my prostate was inflamed. I went to my uro with the same symptoms and said there was no inflammation. Even did a cystoscopy.
