I have a sensation on the on the penis head "glans", tip and part of shaft, and tip. What can I do, I have gone through everything, I have had this for 3 months. It first happened in January with frequent urination and penis sensation, so doctor gave me Elavil, in February got worst such as burning and more bothersome doc gave me ditropan, went to ER room a few days later on suspicion of urinary retention. I went to doctor a few days later on the 23 rd of feb, and got Cipro and cardura, I went to urologist on march 3, did rectal examine and found bacteria and diagnosed prostatitis, prescribed Cipro and Flomax. Went to uro on apr 13, meds not working at well, got prescribed motrin and septra. On that day I also did uroflow and PVR, a flow of 14, and bladder was empty. 14 was a little weak. Did cystoscopy on apr 30, finally diagnosed prostatodynia "chronic pelvic pain syndrome". My kidneys was fine, bladder ok, no urinary infection, no strictures, no sign of cancer, didn't recommend any type of surgery. Perhaps a tight pelvic because the urethra looks tight. The doctor prescribed motrin 400 and finally uroxatral. I heard meds don't do anything in this situation, but they always give it to you,
The burning penis sensation is bothering me the most. Sometimes I get up in the morning feeling it is not there, but when I move a little then I have that sensation. No medication has helped me at all, thats why I got the book called "A headache in the Pelvis", and I also order . Any accredited quercetin product a stronger version of Quercetin. For the penis sensation I have tried massage oil such as lavender and peppermint, and I have also tried biofreeze. IT seems taking a hot sitz in the only thing has helped but with very little relief. I really hate to find out if I have pudendal neuropathy or allodynia. I really had to spend time and money with a neurologist. What any one tell what herbs to take in my situation, I have tried saw palmetto. Please save me.
Overall in the past few months I have no back pain, or testicle, and rectal pain at all. Just the penis sensation and frequent urination and nocturia,

Welcome,
No one here can "save you"...You can heal by following some steps here. You have had all other serious conditions ruled out. This is good...now go full blown in this protocol. Read my starter list, Elavil did not help so don't take it. Excluding that is an option, but perhaps you did not give it enough time at a very low dose...
Not sure what you meant by your doctor doing a rectal exam and finding bacteria?? Our rectums have bacteria in it. Do you mean an expressed prostatic secretion. Getting fluid from your prostate by pressing on it?
Not sure what your doctor meant by the urethra "looking tight"???
No quick fix...it seems you have classic UCPPS....
Best

I encourage anxiety prone UCPPS people to consider L-Theanine
Age, 44 onset age 37 Feb 2006 Freq. need to urinate. Sensation of having to urinate soon after going. Perineum discomfort/burning/tightness, pubic area discomfort @ times, poor urine stream, post urine dripping/spray. All symptoms have improved with my protocol. At the worst I give it a 1 to 2 on irritation and discomfort and frequency. Helps: Elavil 5mg for anxiety and mast cell protection, (will only take it as needed) self internal PT as needed, stretching, walking, stairmaster cardio workout and light weights, reducing stress, moment to moment relaxation, deep breathing relaxation and using a Theracane. Makes worse: sitting for long periods, stress, over focusing on it. Currently 95%-98% recovered. Stay positive, relaxed and control your anxiety.

Doctors often tell men they have an infection or "bacteria" because they see pus cells (white blood cells or WBCs) in the EPS. Of course, simple inflammation produces WBCs too.
Good News! The great ProstaQ is BACK at last! You must try it.

Very good advice, it took 2-3 weeks for Elavil to have an effect on me (I thought at first I was wasting my time but persevered) and 6 weeks to get to full relief using it. And this is pretty much exactly how long my doc predicted it may take for it to help.carld wrote:Elavil did not help so don't take it. Age: 41 | Onset Age: 30 Symptoms Initially: Urine frequency, Rectal Pain, Bladder Pain, Penile Pain, Numb Inner Thigh Pain, Constipation, Fever. Symptoms now: None | Helped By: Resolution of phimosis /Elavil, Stretches. Worsened By: Stress Stress Stress!

Re: Penis sensation, frequent voiding
Don't underestimate the effect of masturbation. Something I didn't know until recently is that it is pretty common for masturbation to irritate the urethra. Since nobody mentioned that yet, I thought it would be worth bringing it up. I used to do it every other day. One week, I stopped for an entire week and it made a world of a difference. I still have the muscular problems that go with CPPS, but the pain in the urethra and tip and the persistent urge to void have gone.
Reducing alcohol and eliminating caffeine have made a world of a difference as well. All three things irritate that area a lot and I definitely noticed benefits when I reduced them.
